Hubs don't have Wireless Access Points, so it wouldn't have a wireless network you could connect too.

Do you mean you have a Router? If so, you may not have the Wireless Access Point--WAP, enabled in the Router. Usually, the WAP is enabled by default, but I don't know what type you have so I can't say for sure it is.

You would need to access the Routers configuration pages and ensure that the WAP is not disabled.

To access the configuration pages you need the Routers IP addess or Default Gateway address, which are both the same.

To locate your Routers IP address, right click on the connections icon in the notification area, select Status, then click on Support tab. Find the Default Gateway entry, and next to that is the IP address. Write it down.

Open a browser session, and type the IP address into the search box at the top, not any added search box such as Google, or the one at the far left on Internet Explorer, but the long one at the very top where you enter URLs.

Don't add http:// or .com, just the IP address and then hit Enter.

If you have not yet added an Administator password, (You need to if you haven't or somebody could access your pages and lock you out of your own network) just hit the Submit or Apply button, and then browse to the WAP area and make sure it is enabled. You might find it under a Wireless lable, or under Settings, but it will be somewhere on the left in those options list.

Once you have enabled this feature, or ensured it is enabled, you need to setup security. Follow your manuals instructions or contact the manufacture's technical support for help.

Here are a few websites to help you out:

Hope this helps, good luck and please have a nice holiday season.

Vista or XP? See Windows Help for setting up connection. My new laptop (Acer) detected the BT Voyager 2110 Router when first switched on. I had to enter settings for the router - Wireless Network Key (on label underneath the router- a case sensitive password) and select Enable WEP.

When you say hub I presume you mean modem? If you have a modem then you need to get a router which you connect to the modem and then connect the router to your laptop as well using an ethernet cable. You then go into your connections settings and chose internet. Then find the website of your routers' manufacturer and follow their instructions for setting up the router to operate wirelessly, without the ethernet cable.
I did this all myself only yesterday and it was easier than I thought it would be. Good luck.

On the back of the hub is a label with your routers name (SSID) and password (WEPkey)

Your laptop needs to know these to connect it also needs the wireless adaptor switched on

There is probably a switch somewhere on your laptop - mine is on the left side - which needs to be switched on for the wireless connection to work

You may need to scan for the router so right click the wireless icon or open the wireless manager programme and click on show available connections and then click on connect for your router - you may find others turning up in a list

There is a possiblity tha some radio signal is interfering with your connection so try it with your laptop really close to the router with mains power connected

Can you see the router from your Laptop.... go to wireless adapter and select view available networks.
If not, make sure it is enabled - with power on.
If you can't even see it then make sure that the drivers are installed correctly.

If you can then make sure you have the WEP code (for encryption) and then hit connect.
I hope this helps.

becuase hubs don't work wirelessly. You gotta buy a wireless router to connect wirelessly. If you don't you gotta get an ethernet card and plug it into your hub and laptop.
