I have just returned from Bahrain, and I must say it's such a lame city, with dirty ugly hotels and few sites.
There's really nothing to do there. Lonely Planet describes it as "a good introduction to the middle east". In my opininon, it's a good introduction to boredom.

Bahrain has lost its grip to the title of gateway to the GCC. Bahrain used to be the center of commerce, banking and on the verge of becoming the most advance and modern place in the GCC ... then Dubai came and Qatar is inching and Sheikh Issa is dead.
The problem is, there is a big uncertainty in Bahrain. And this is the political situation which the above answerer has mentioned (sami).
Political uncertainty leads to economic decline and almost no foreign investment is happening. While all big names in the GCC Real Estate like EMAAR, NAKHEEL, HYDRA, DAMAC, TANMIYAT, ETA, SCHON, etc.. are lording in out in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah, Algeria, Qatar, Oman, etc... what happen to Bahrain ?
WHAT changes has been expected in Bahrain since Sheikh Hamad al-Khalifa has succeeded his father, Sheikh Issa, who died on March 6th, 1999 after ruling his tiny kingdom since independence in 1971? Domestically, with the Sunni Muslim ruling family trying to suppress calls for democracy, especially from the impoverished Shia Muslim suburbs around Manama, the future looks less predictable.
Sheikh Issa, a cheery man, used to play good cop to the bad cop of his reviled brother, Sheikh Khalifa, the prime minister. Whenever Shia lads burnt tyres or scrawled anti-government graffiti, Sheikh Khalifa would call out riot police to round up—and often beat up—the miscreants, while Sheikh Issa busied himself with charming foreign visitors. Bahraini dissidents hope that the accession of Sheikh Hamad, who was rumoured to have quarrelled with his uncle, will lead to a less hardline policy. … but he is reported sick...
Uncertainty....and I could understand why the asker posted this question in the first place.

i live in Saudi Arabia which is the most boring place on earth , and i go to Bahrain every few months to boost my mood with alcohol and the beach with girls . just like spring break in mexico

I work here. If it wasn't for work I wouldn't come to Bahrain for any reason.

i presumed it grew to become into lots greater useful than I predicted it to be. I enjoyed the previous tutor and did not choose for it to come back returned, yet i grew to become into pleasantly stunned with the hot one and could be staring at it returned.
