Do you think you are more inteligent than most, Do you feel mentaly inferior? Are you really smart in some ways, and a slobbering idiot in others? Are you less inteligent now than you once were? Have you ever taken an I.Q. test? what did it reveal?
I think most people are better at some things than others, But not everyone is like that, A few are Savants, who are really, really good at some things, and can't tie their shoes.

My coworkers and I often say the Guys in the Band "Rush" have big brains, for the musical ability they are capable of. And they still can dress themselves and carry on a conversation. Geddy, especialy, as He can use all of his hands and feet simultaniously, and still sing as well.

By the way, I am not really refering to physical size so much as cpu usage, I guess. We have all heard that we use only a portion of our capacity anyway, so I mean what is the usable portion of your brain.

I do not think its down the size of ones brain so much as the quality. One cannot generalise on such a subject, almost all of us are born with brains, I think there are many things that will influence this organ. The environment in which we are born, the stimulation given to us during our early years. Encouragement or discouragement to discover and learn about various subjects, our personalities must have some influence, our genetics.....far to numerous to relate.
I consider myself fairly well educated and encouraged to learn, and enjoy doing so into my later years, so I guess I can consider myself reasonably intelligent, and yes I do find some folks a bit boring, as they have limited knowledge in some subjects I enjoy to discuss, so yes it must have a bearing. As you so rightly point out, we are each clever in our own way, I have worked many years with adults with learning disabilities, ( Is that what you are referring to as SAVANTS??? personally I would not - however ) and despite their impairments, they nearly all have been found to be good at something, playing the piano, painting, jigsaw puzzles etc., as are we all. I am sure you are very clever at some things, and very useless at others, so really we are ALL pretty much like that aren't we. This is a good question, but a huge subject, and even bigger subject to compair and discuss.
Have a great Christmas !

My brain isn't too big, and it uses ten times the energy of normal tissue in my head. I have trouble with feelings of inferiority and superiority because I have a very high intelligence - however I am rather stupid, so I make many basic mistakes, especially with social issues. I find frustration in the fact that people don't really listen too carefully or skillfully to what you say. When you really listen and understand what they say, they are often not happy about this either - because they're so busy talking bull**** they'd rather have nobody notice.
Try it one day, wave at people and say "carrot" and "blab an idea" but do it as if you're saying something sensible. Throw it into the middle of a sentence, and start talking gibberish. People often don't notice, it's good fun sometimes.
I can't tie my shoes... I have no laces, indeed I only have one pair of shoes and I didn't wear them for 7 months. I find the greatest mental stimulation in my life now comes from playing games and trying to teach a bunch of 5 year old Thai students to communicate and read in English.

You are corect...Some people are better doing some other things than other...but does not necessary mean that you are smart.
An I.Q. test is very accurate about your inteligent factor not how much you know...
The ability to think fast, accurate or come out with solution to problems is what's makes you stand out

I think I'm pretty intelligent. I score averagely on IQ tests, but I can hold up my end of a conversation with pretty deeply educated people.
What is intelligence, anyway?

Isn't it great that people no longer think a small skull makes for a small brain and lower intelligence?

The size of my brain is my two fists.
But the size of it doesn't make you smarter.
Maybe the less, the better? Maybe..? *lmao*
