"Good Morning. How are you today"?

"Good Morning. Good, excellent. And yourself? "Oh ,wonderful, you brought your famous cookies today! Arent we lucky! And I would be happy to make the coffee later. Around 10? Sounds great"

6 lies there. The morning was crappy, with torrential rain, melting the snow, which was up to your knees. Your toes are frostbitten and you have a whopping headache. You hate her cookies . They are too sweet. You wish she would make ginger snaps or butter or sugar cookies. You have a 0930 appointment and probably wont be out to make that coffee you promised. In the back of your head is a memo. Phone at 10 to 10 to get out of the coffee making. Delegate it to somebody else.

White lies are part and parcel of the civilized world , essential in diplomacy and important in dealing with other people. It is also known as niceties.

Do a taxonomic classification of lies. It should be a good topic for discussion, maybe even for an essay in school.

Maybe once or twice,it depemds on the situation, especially if the truth means hurting someone needlessly(and I'm not alking about cheating either) it's where the term "little white lie"comes from. There are times when you just don't feel like talking. To anybody, even a friend or loved one,so,if I'm in a mood like that and someone calls me on the phone say,I'll tell then that I'm busy when I'm really not and go back to whatever I was really doing...nothing.

With every thought, action and intent. Though the impetus for each is to express honesty, truth, much like beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The sincerity of a given response may be self evident to me, and yet, whether I can identify with alternate perceptions of it or not, it's polar opposite will be the only truth another may be able to see. Fallacy and the lack there of is only one small facet of existence that is subject to the same inescapable law of existence at the whim of perspective. Good luck and God Bless.

However many times a day people ask me if i'm "ok".
I'm pretty personal and keep my feelings to myself and rarely tell anyone i'm feeling down.
I put on my happy face and pretend all is well in the world :o)

If I were a diplomat I'd lie for my country, instead I lie for my boss so that he's not in when he wants to be out!

Once or twice I'm sure I'll tell someone "I'm great" when I'm really just tired and want to go home. Other than that, I try not to mislead people.
