Does the Flight Sim, Star Wars: TIE Fighter work on windows XP?

So I was thinking of going and buying the Computer, Flight Simulator, Star Wars: TIE Fighter and I hear it's an old game. All I need to know is if it will work on Windows XP, because I don't want to get it and not have it work on my computer.

I used to have a "free" star wars game that you could download. It was called "battle of yavin". You played as an x wing pilot in the Death Star Battle. It was pretty good for a "Free" game.

Just search "battle of yavin" and you should find a download site.
