His name sounds so close to Osama

We sure don't need someone like that as our president

Really? I also heard he eats kittens and goes through the night causing mischief. There's also a rumor that he's the Seaside Strangler. I think there's also a rumor that not only is he Muslim, but he's also part-Scientologist.

And yes. He is Osama's brother. Didn't you get the Obama family Christmas card?

I'm being sarcastic in case no one notices.....

I don't support Obama but these are the worst possible reasons not to vote for someone. According your logic even if Obama is still Muslim that makes him a terrorist and with connection to Islam. That's like saying every Christian is connected to the Klu Klux Klan. And you're voting based on a name?

What does his connection to Islam have to do with how he will serve as a president. Most presidents claim to be Christian, yet you can find little evidence of their beliefs in their actions. Bush is a professed staunch Christian, yet I see no evidence of Christ anywhere in ANY of his actions, short of allowing faith based charities to receive government funds. Which by the way was more a payment for their assistance in getting him elected.

Obama's father is Muslim. That is the connection you are looking for, Obama, is a declared Christian. Declarations of religion mean absolutely nothing. Imagine, if observers could assign a religion based on behavior? How many people would be Satanists? Another thing to consider is how many of our politicians ARE actually masquerading as Christians, holding nefarious and evil beliefs deeply as their moral compass.

Obama sounds like more of a Christian than Bush does. Seems to act more in-line with the purer virtues of Christianity. I believe his connection to Islam can help with the difficult task of cleaning up this very un-Christian mess our so called Christian president has gotten this country into...

Excuse me? What does "connected" mean? Are you "connected" to Christianity? Is that like being "connected" to the mafia?

First of all, there are tons of Muslims out there who are just regular people, it's a religion, not a hate group!

Second of all, he is, in fact Christian (not that it should matter!) His father and step father were both Muslim, but his mother was not. He and his wife are both Christian.

But why would his being a Muslim matter? I don't understand why Americans are so hung up by religion?

I am Jewish. I guess that means I'm not "supposed" to like him for having a Muslim father. But I don't care if he was a practicing Muslim, for crying out loud. It should not, and does not matter in terms of what kind of president he would be.

There are good and evil people in every single group, mine included. Time to get past these divisive scare tactics.

Oh, BTW, I should say, I am supporting Edwards in the primaries, not Obama. I just can't stand to see things like the above question.

He started in a Catholic school, was taken out and put in a Muslim school. He joined the Trinity Unity Church - their first loyalty is to Africa and African Americans. His commitment to Africa and African Americans is non-negotiable. He is African first and one would assume American at least second, but he doesn't admit even that much.

"We are a congregation which is Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian... Our roots in the Black religious experience and tradition are deep, lasting and permanent. We are an African people, and remain "true to our native land," the mother continent, the cradle of civilization. God has superintended our pilgrimage through the days of slavery, the days of segregation, and the long night of racism. It is God who gives us the strength and courage to continuously address injustice as a people, and as a congregation. We constantly affirm our trust in God through cultural expression of a Black worship service and ministries which address the Black Community."

No, is not true. He is a Christian, belongs to the Southern Church of Christ. You probably heard this on ABC or NBC news. Don't believe all that you hear. I fell for this lie and am ashamed of believing it. I still do not think that Obama is qualified to be Commander In Chief. He has a long way to go. As do Hillary. Just because one is a Senator, that does not mean they would be a great leader. Yes, it is good to have someone that Represents Parties. But this time around I am going Rep. all the way!

No it's not true. He's Christian. What you are hearing is slander being spewed by Hillary Clinton's camp and the right winged media.

Lets talk real.

I think the USA is mentally ready for a woman President. Hillary Clinton does have a true shot at being President and is probably the best qualified candidate in either party speaking objectively.

However, I don't yet think USA is ready for a black President. The USA has come a long ways since 1865 but it will be another generation before an African American will have a true shot at being President of the USA.

Black people outreproduce white people 5 to 1. So simple mathematics says in about 200 years there will be Black President and a mostly all Black Congress. Thats fine with me as long as they stay true to the US Constitution.

His father was a Muslim, but he was raised Christian. Being half Muslim is way down the list of deficiencies of Obama.

Yes....His real name is Barack Hussein Obama & he is a Muslim. He poses as a member of theTrinity United Church of Christ which is a Black Separatist/ Black Supremacist Church. He disguises the fact that he is a Muslim by using the pretext that he is a Christian.---Maybe he wants people to believe that his name is O'Bama & he is really Irish Catholic ??
