What do you mean, what would that do? This would depend on how the person would die. If it was because of a basic medical defect in the person, everyone feels sorry for them, but not much happens beyond that. If they find that the protection offered players is insufficient, they often decide to do something to change the protective equipment requirements. However, there is some understanding that football is a very violent and physical sport, and this is one of the risks people take when they get involved at the professional level. The money is there in part to compensate for the likelihood that the sport will ruin your life.

It has happened, Kevin Everett of the Buffalo Bills, remember?! Or the numerous concussions some of these quarterbacks have obtained as of late. The only thing else they can do is tell the players that if they hit a player to intentionally hurt them permanently, they can prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.

However, the chances of that happening are slim to none, seeing as how this is a collision sport and hard hits are part of the game. You can only change the rules on how to properly hit someone so many times. It's already illegal for players to launch themselves, so that's just one of the many preventative measures in place. Takeaway anything else from the game and you might as well be playing Pro Flag Football.

I would assume they'd call the game where it stood or give it a tie, clear the stadium and deal with the situation. That's the only appropriate thing to do IMO. I think the big thing is to take the cameras OUT. No one needs to be watching that, especially the player's family.

In 1971, Chuck Hughes of the Lions had a fatal heart attack while playing against the Bears and died on the field. What do you mean, what would that do?

They would take him off the field in a stretcher, evaluate him off camera, and announce his death after the game. It happened in the Arena league not too long ago.

they would stop the game, get the player out off they field, ad continue the game. After the game they would decide if it was a clean or accidental incident, if not somebody would be prosecuted
