I have a Netgear router which sends the signal into my kids' computer room which has 2 identical Dell computers. One of the computers gets a good signal & the other doesn't. They are about 2 feet away from each other and the computer that is farthest from the router is the one with the best signal. Is there any way to get a better signal on the other computer? It is causing a lot of conflict in the house =).

You have to make sure that the area where the other computer that has a poor signal has no electro magnetic interferences. Like wireless devices, cordless phones etc.

I'm going to ASSUME you have:
Moved the one unit around and had no change
If they are desktops, checked that the antenna in the back is screwed in tight and aligned the same as the other machine.
If it's not physical orientation that is causing the issue, turn the one machine off and see if the other works better. You could be getting interference between the units.
If one just always performs better, check with Dell, you could have a bad antenna
Finally, worst case, you can't get it fixed
Run a cable to the kids room, and put a repeater in the room (if they HAVE to be wireless) or put a switch in the room and connect them to the switch

Why not run a wire to the computers and forget the hassle of wireless signals.
