Neo meaning new and in context a departure from the old

The "new" christian seems to think god wants them to be rich - that god wants them to dictate to the political world and that god needs them to kill infidel's

So new to us - but very old - as in throw back purtitanicals who burned witches old -

No. Many Christians are showing the un-Christian trait of intolerance, but many liberals are just as intolerant. Does that mean that the neo-liberals are really neo-Bolsheviks?

BTW. The Puritans of New England did not burn any suspected witches; they hanged them.

American conservatives in their constant demonetization of liberals clearly echos the words of Hitler himself.
How is this Hitler quote different than the retoric of Rush Limbaugh or An Coulter? You tell me
"Today Christians ... stand at the head of this country We want to fill our culture again with the Christian spirit ... We want to burn out all the recent immoral developments in literature, in the theater, and in the press - in short, we want to burn out the poison of immorality which has entered into our whole life and culture as a result of liberal excess during the past years "

The Neocon doctrine of preemptive war and open wars of agression and the way they deal or try to deal with dissent is also quite similar.

"Naturally the common people do not want war: neither in Russia, nor England, nor, for that matter, in Germany. That is understood. But, after all it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country."
-- Hermann Wilhelm Goring at the Nuremberg Trails

"Preventive war was an invention of Hitler. Frankly, I would not even listen to anyone seriously that came and talked about such a thing.”

~Dwight D. Eisenhower 1953

"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State."
-- Joseph Goebbels, German Minister of Propaganda, 1933-1945

So yes there are similarities but I dio think the very real similarities aren't enough to call all American Neo Christians Nazis.
Then again I could be the naive one

When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.

When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.

When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I wasn't a Jew.

When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.

Pastor Martin Niemöller (1892–1984)

Where did you get this info? You never heard it from a Christian,So I figure it must have come from some immature idiot who has nothing better to do with his time than set around bash those he disagrees with or it's just someones opinion. It's not fact unless you get it from the horses mouth.

I imagine it's just another example of an age old strategy-selfish people with ulterior motives who pretend to adopt religion in the belief that doing so will make their objectives easier to attain.

What's a "Neo Christian"?

Does anyone who throws "neo" around these days know what "neo" actually means?

2007-12-23 03:10:55 · answer #8 · answered by ? 6 · 4 2

Nope
I have yet to hear Christians call for the rounding up of all non-Christians and put them into camps. I don't see Christians calling for the death of all non-believers like Muslims terrorists are doing.

I don't see Christians going around demanding that all non-Christian symbols be removed from the public areas like I see liberals are doing.

It may surpise you to know that Soros the hero of the left handed out the notices to Jewish familes to board the death trains.
So he has closer ties to Naizs than Christains today.

You are a fine example of modern day bigot.

Well, one thing you got right.

The "you name - it you claim it" Christians aren't anything new.

But please understand very few Christians feel like this.
