Do you just fly off the handle or does it take a little more to push you off the edge.

Yeah, it depends on who it is, and what they're doing. As for people I do not know personally. Over the line is when I am treated in a disrespectful manner that I would never treat a stranger. It's only happened a few times in 45 years. As for "flying off the handle". Sometimes it's effective with some folks to do this. Like dogs, it's what they understand. Sometimes we have to act angrier than we really are to make a point sink in. Sometimes merely voicing discontent with someone's behavior is enough. Sometimes it requires more.

Usually, it has to be something that is intentional - like when someone goes out of their way to be offensive. I.E.: My kids and I went early evening to our exclusive community pool, and several people that did not live there had jumped the fence and were huddled in the spa. They were quiet until we showed up, then kept talking very loud and using very vulgar racially charged language. I ignored it for about 10 minutes, then finally jumped up, grabbed my phone and pretended to call the police and reported trespassers. They all left rather quickly.

This type of thing REALLY gets my goat - they KNEW they were in the wrong yet PUSHED it on us.

I guess it would depend on my frame of mind at the time. There are days when I can just ignore offending behavior, there are others when I speak my mind. I do try to do it in a polite manner, but if the circumstances are just right I can blow up and give it right back. I try to stay away from the people who annoy me. It I continue to be around them I guess it is my fault.

Depends a heck of a lot on who it is and what they're doing. Normally I'm pretty laid back and things don't tend to phase me, but certain things just have a horrific effect.

For example sniffing or most biological noises will trigger a major reaction whereby I've had to drag myself out of rooms to prevent me launching very nasty attacks against people.

I have no limit. I control myself and try not to answer at aggressiveness or things which are irritating. I always avoid it. I've practising karate for more than 3 years and I learned a lot about control. I think it's for the best.

Some mellow with age, others become harsher and rigid. Patience is a beautiful virtue.
