i have a modem and was wondering what i would need to setup a wireless network at home. do i just need a router or a network adapter with it? i want to put my computer in a different room and the modem will be in a different one.

1. Buy a wireless router. You will need to contact this to your modem.

2. Buy a wireless adapter for your desktop. Attach it to the desktop, and install the software.

You will need a WIFI router to broadcast the internet signal to this other room.

simply connect your modem to the router. You will probably need to install the routers software, and you will need to install a PCI WIFI card in your comupter. Assuming that this computer is a desktop. If it is a laptop it may already be WIFI capable. If not you will need a PCMCIA WIFI adapter.

yeah router ,network adapter with antena if you wanted wifi or ethernet cable if you going to have a physical connection and finally setup everything
