ENGINE OIL
Oil specifications
Use WSS-M2C153–F motor oil
CERTIFIED FOR GASOLINE
ENGINES by the American
Petroleum Institute.
Engine oils with an SAE 5W-30
viscosity and displaying the
American Petroleum Institute
certification mark are preferred for
your vehicle. They provide the best
engine performance, fuel economy
and engine protection for all
climates down to –25°C (-15°F).
Do not use:
² “non-detergent” oils
² oils labeled API SA, SB, SC, SD,
SE, SF or SG
² additional engine oil additives,
oil treatments or engine
treatments
Additional engine oil additives, oil
treatments, or engine treatments
are never needed and could, under
certain conditions, lead to engine
damage which is not covered by
your Ford warranty.
Synthetic engine oils which are
CERTIFIED and of the preferred
viscosity may be used in your
engine. The engine oil and oil filter
must still be changed according to
the “Service Guide.”

If you live in warm climates I would use 5w30 and if you live in weather that changes like New England weather I would use 10w30 all the time. To be safe call the dealership where you bought the truck or call a dealership and they can provide you with the answer best suited for your car where you live. They can also get you a manual .

10W30 is a little bit thicker than what you would want to use. The manual calls for 5W30 on all vehicles up to 2001 model year except 4.0L SOHC V6 engines. Hope this helps.

Yes, 10/30. But you can use any brand you like. It's all a matter of personal preference. I use Pennzoil Synthetic.
