I don't think, a spouse's income is a factor, in determining a social security disability award.

There are law firms, that specialize in procuring social security disability awards for applicants. Below, are links to two of them. You can find many more online.

Are you talking about Disability? And if you are then the question is why? You are hearing impaired not incapable of working. I hope you are a capable person not willing to use the system for disability. Social Security on the other hand is completely different. You pay in and collect that when you retire. If there is SS left by the time you retire. I don't see a problem there.

Hearing impaired and deaf are two different things. I do not believe you qualify.

Being hearing impaired does not make you unemployable, so, no, you would not be considered disabled to collect SS.

Some of the people who are getting all moral on you for asking about SS disability might be getting disability themselves. It's like that movie where people are trying to push into an already overcrowded helicopter that is trying to fly away from an island about to be destroyed by a volcano eruption. The people who already are inside the helicopter don't want any more people in there, so they do whatever they can to push those others out, and off...

By being hearing impaired is not a disability. You can still do many things.
