I remember what they did during the miner's strike and it was not pleasant, but if the Police ever did go on strike, which is unlikely then I would think that you would miss them, just think you wouldn't be able to post questions about them. Merry Christmas Stand.

You will miss them if they are not around
There was a police strike in Liverpool many years ago and those who lived through it did not want it to happen again ever. So smart answers like some I've seen have no sympathy with me. As a motorist I don't always like the police. As a citizen I realise their value and how they are often hamstrung by those in authority over them. light sentencing is not the fault of the police and given the judiciary have been robbed of most of their independence by the government you have yet again to point to the political party in power, which has now failed on almost every count. I cannot think one one were they have not but it's Christmas so I'll be generous.

The police have an unofficial way of striking already, its called a 'blue day'... they don't strike as such they have a planned collective 'sick day'. The army is used as cover.
As for those useless ba*tards... they do a great job under huge pressure for a low wage consider the danger they put themselves in each day. If you needed help I am sure your first reaction would be to call those useless bas*tards.
I suggest you learn to spell police before you criticise them!

You need to concentrate on your spelling when the next school term starts, you are really dropping behind all of the other 6 year old children in your year Stand2.

ah, thats wishful thinking isnt it?
plod isnt useless, however the system is innfective, and operating under duress.. doing stuff which it wasnt designed to do.
its time we seperated the police force and its responsibilities, in the same way mi5 and mi6 are part of the same government, with different obligations, and operational duties.
give the security work to those best suited to it...the army. the people of England would not be worried about being guarded by professional soldiers... who are THE best trained soldiers in teh world... we have nothing to fear, except fear itself... we who are not guilty, should have no concerns...
freedom isnt necessarily free...

good question mate. and i agree with your sentiment. for what good the twats are they might as well!! be on the dole. perhaps the government could re employ the fools as tax collectors. that seems about all they are qualified for, or capable of nowadays.
