it's not chrome, it's high gloss silver plastic.

Basically, it involves etching the plastic and applying a copper base on which the chrome can be plated.
As for answer #1, how do you think you make a high polish silver plastic?

Try Plasti-Kote chrome fast dry spray enamel. This says it can be used on most plastics.. It is just a small 100ml can available from crafts shops, stationers or DIY stores.
