I lived in Malaysia for 2 years way back in the early 1970s, and it is an "undiscovered" treasure! It is such a beautiful country with so much to see and do. The people are very friendly and the population is very diverse, which makes it much more interesting than a lot of uni-cultural nations. The food cannot be beat! There is such a variety of delicious foods. I could just live in the outdoor food stalls. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to visit Asia. After my family lived there, it became a common saying with us Iwhen talking about a country), "It's no Malaysia, but it's really nice."

You mean the greatest people.
And no, I doubt it. I'm a Malaysian myself, but I have numerous friends from all over the world. I think we're all pretty much the same, really. Everyone has their own good and bad points, mate.

Truthfully, for locals, this country is not great but for third world immigrants coming here, they think Malaysia is the greatest nation becoz where else in the world where they can roam free without their passports and doing illegal business and steal from locals, while the enforcers are busy thickening their pockets. Sad, but its the truth.

honey, malaysia is definitely not the greatest nation in the world, neither are malaysians the greatest people in the world.
it could only be so, if one holds the view subjectively.
but then, being a malaysian myself i find it hard to describe my country in that way, it's not something i'd come up with for many many years to come. but i would say malaysians are one of the luckiest people in the world. i feel lucky!
