Windows cant delete files or a program that are “live”. This means the program or some elements of it are actually running. The program or one its services may be running silently in the background or being shared with another application. To disconnect all applications associated with the program, Press Crtl-Alt-Delete time to pull up the task manager. You will need to disable all the services associated with the program. Here is how:

1. Open your "Start"menu.
2. Click “Run”
3. In the command screen type "msconfig.exe"
4. In the "system configuration utility",click "service"
5. Uncheck all executable(.exe) files associated with the program you want to remove.
6. Click "OK"

After this procedure you may be able to use the program uninstall feature to remove the program.

You can download a new Yahoo Toobar, and select the buttons that you want installed. (This should remove the old toolbar with Yahoo Anti Spy. (Nortons).

http://toolbar.yahoo.com/

Or you will have to go to start, run and type in: c://program files and click on browse, click on program files and look down your list to see if there is Nortons & Symantec. If the files are there delete. If will not delete, because says being used, then reboot and should delete the second time.

Go to start, search and type in: Nortons, and let your PC search for all related Nortons files. Delete from top to bottom.

Go back and type in, Symantec and let you PC search for all related files and delete from top to bottom.

Any that say being used by another reboot and go back to search for both Nortons & Symantec and should delete.

When you get it removed, go to add/remove programs and remove everything that is Symatec, or Norton related. Symatec is Norton's parent company.
