You're probably afraid of losing control of your car, and from what I know about people getting over losing control fears, is that you need to set yourself up in a controlled environment: an empty parking lot or something of that sort, where there is no pressure. Then you slowly work your way up to driving again. Make sure you're ready otherwise your fear of crashing will most likely come back and possibly increase your chance to have an accident because of how scared you are. Almost every fear we have is in our heads and we will believe what we want to believe even if it's not true. In your case you may believe your not a good driver, but have you ever stopped to think of all the times your car HASN'T crashed, the chances are enormous. People on average encounter a few accidents in their lifetime (unless in a specific business involving crashes) and of all those crashes only a handful are fatal. You must regain confidence, by showing yourself that there is nothing to fear.

Hope that helped...

Time----in time you won't be quite so afraid. I understand because it's happened to me too. But don't let your fear take over and keep you from doing what you want/need to do. Try doing some deep breathing when you start to feel anxious or panicky. Good luck!

That is scary!

There is a saying about how if a horse throws you, the thing you have to do is get right back on it. That's what you have to do, get right back in that car.

But counseling might be in order too.

Good luck!

Counselling and talking about your fear would help.
