I'm just trying to figure out if most people think the way I do. I say it her birthday is 3 days before. Just wondering if some people would consider it to be 2 days before. I'll wait to reveal her actual birthday.

Yes, her birthday is Dec. 22. And just for those who may be a lil confused. I gave birth to her so I do know exactly what day she was born, and what time.

This is really asking "do you count inclusively or exclusively?"

If we count 'inclusively' we include the date counted back from. If we count 'exclusively' then we merely count back days without including the starting date.

Inclusively, the 3 days would give us the 23rd. Exclusively, 3 days back from 25th would be 22nd.

Your daughter's birthday was 3 days before Christmas =
25th - 3
= 22nd of December

22nd of December.

Start from any time, eg. 10h00, on the 22nd to 10h00 on the 23rd is 1 day.
Plus, from 10h00 on the 23rd to 10h00 on the 24th is 2 days.
Plus, from 10h00 on the 24th to 10h00 on Christmas (the 25th) is 3 days.

If you start on the 21st, say at 23h59 - 1 minute before midnight (before the 22nd) and count it like that to Christmas, you will end up with 3 days and 1 minute.

Remember 1 day = 24 hours, so you can only count a day as whole after 24 hours.

If you want to count 3 days "before", start on a certain time on the 25th, say 10h00. Now count backwards, 1,2,3, days and you'll end up at 10h00 on the 22nd. Don't say "one" while you're still standing on the 25th! One day has only passed after 24 hours, so if you count backwards, say "one" when you've reached the 24th; then "two" when you're on the 23rd; and "three" when you land on the 22nd at 10h00.

hmm, ok.. her birthday is on 22nd December. Ok, christmas is on 25 December. Then the day before Christmas which is Christmas' Eve is on 24 December. Then the day before christmas eve is 23 December. One day before that is 22 December.

Don't worry, still say "happy birthday" to your daughter. Say that you got confused with the "3 day before" issues.

Merry Christmas!!!

I would think is the 22 of December.

Some people, though, like to mess things up a little and consider the 25th as one of the days, so then they say: Mmm.. 25th is Christmas, that's one, then 24, then 23. It's 23..

Other are worst: Mmm.. 3 days before... the 25th can't be counted, so, mmm.. let's see: 24, 23, 22. That's full 3 days, so her birthday is on 21...

Okay dvnlady, you had us curious enough time. We can't keep coming back to this question every 5 minutes to see if you have posted your daughter's birthday. Could you please do it now?.. Please???... please?

I would say it was 22 december, although some people would also say it was 23 december depending on whether you count 25 december to be one of the days (resulting in 23.12).
