As far as I'm aware, you don't need planning permission for a porch unless you are in a conservation area. Ring your local planning officer and ask but don't tell him your address, just tell him the locality. If it turns out that you do need permission, ask for retrospective permission.

I DONT KNOW THE BUILDING CODES WHERE YOU ARE BUT RATHER THAN TAKE IT DOWN THEY MIGHT TAX YOU SOME MORE THAN PRESENTLY. MAKE SURE THAT THE LEGS OF THE PORCH ARE SET PROPERLY TO MEET BUILDING SPECIFICATIONS.

if you did not get a proper permit they might nake you take it down and rebuild.just because they are that way
