My 4 1/2 month old does everything he should be doing including rolling over a few times, but he can't hold himself up on his hands. He does really well during tummy time by holding himself on his forearms. my doctor seemed concerned about this at his wellbaby checkup. should i be worried or is my doc following the books too aggressively??

I wouldn't be to worried about this. You have to remember every baby develops differently. I'm a mother of three and can tell you they all started walking at different ages. My first start on his 1st. birthday, my 2nd start when he was 14 months old and my baby started and 8 months so you can see for yourself. Give him another month or so. Don't rush it cause this stage of their life goes by so fast!!

Good Luck and merry x-mas

A baby learns one thing at a time. Don't expect him to be able to do everything by the book. He's an individual and will be better at some things than others. Don't worry about it because the baby will pick up your anxiety over this 'nothing'. Stop worrying and just enjoy your baby. Don't try comparing him with other babies and baby books. My sons didn't even roll over at 4.5 months but they talked more than other babies. They've grown up fine so don't worry about this. It's nothing.
