humans are naturally doubtful. to learn to trust is learn to understand the one you want to trust. it is easier to learn to trust, than to learn to doubt.

I think we are naturally trusting and we learn over time and experience to be less so depending on what happens in life. If we weren't how can we so easily fall victim to the scams and cons that have become part of every day life.

Depends what kind of trust you’re talking about. However, any trust is defined by personal experience. Born as a blank page waiting to be written on, we trust in everything and everybody. As we experience different situations in our lives, lines of distrust are being written.
The old saying goes: “One who had been bitten by a snake is afraid of lizard”

Humans who have led a sheltered life are naturally trusting. But those who have had experience in the real world, are slower to trust, because they understand that there are a lot of wounded people out there who want to make their problem, your problem.

Yes! We become less trusting as we mature, but often even when we think we are untrusting of strangers, we still remain trusting of those closest to us. Then when we are betrayed by them, we say to ourselves that we trust no one. But, like love, the psyche(or amygdala/ hippocampus duo) longs to trust again. We evolved to survive by trusting the family and extended family or band. How could a hunter gatherer survive for long by going it alone?

I think trust is something children learn early on in their development. I think they will continue with this until life experience causes them to be more cautious with who they trust.

no way, humans are naturally questioning, it's only through exposure and repeated positive experiences that we learn to trust.
