You're right! Before I was going to submit my answer as the Sahara, I saw you said Antarctica. And I have a BA in geography! Misconceptions about deserts are that they're always hot, dusty, and sunny.Although that's true of most of them, it's not true of all them. The definition of a desert is someplace that receives less than 10 inches of rain per year, and that definitely includes Antarctica! Good question!

First off, remember that the Bible was only inspired by, not written by God. So of course there will be errors, and unauthorized additions, removals, edits, etc. Also, it's not just one book, it's a series of about 66 books, some of them missing or not in entirety. Slave is the same thing as employee. I think when people think of slavery, they automatically think about how it went down in the USA. Not all other cultures and societies treated their slaves with the same brutality! And yes, of course the Bible has been used for corrupt reasons. That's not God's fault! Secondly, nobody knows the requirements for heaven or hell except for God. God is our creator, not our controller! God does not intervene, as it would affect free will. If God allowed his presence to be seen or felt by all, we would no longer have the option to believe in God or choose to follow Him or not, or love Him or not. God does speak, but not always just with words. Regarding the evils of the world: Without darkness, there is no light and vice-versa. Lastly, many of the miracles and other events mentioned of the Bible have archaeological evidence and proof. So although the Bible has it's errors, much of what it says is true! I also do not agree with organized religion; that we should follow God's word, not man's. Also, those who have true faith are not afraid of what's to happen after death because they've already accepted Jesus as their Savior. It's everyone else that they fear for. I hope this gives you better perspective and appreciation for those who do believe. As an atheist though, I though you didn't believe in "love"? That's it's just chemical & nervous system reactions we evolved to help the survival of our animal species? Either way, I think that's great, and you should be happy for all of us believers who believe we're more than just animals!!
