Unfortunately , the team does not have any world-class bowler apart from the captain , Anil Kumble . He has delivered consistently for over a decade while harbhajan singh has performed well only at home . zaheer khan seems to have matured as a bowler but still has a long way to go to become the team's strike bowler . with mcgrath and warne gone , the australians might find it hard to find capable replacements but i still think lee and company might prove to be quite a handful for India this time around with their pace and bounce . i would be quite happy if i am proved wrong by the team

This question depends entirely on the conditions, the Indian spin attack is far more experienced and there is a great variety with new youngsters like Chawla, but also the ones with experience such as Anil Kumble. However the Indian Pace attack is gradually increasing, Sreesanth is certainly a quick bowler however control and discipline is lacking. But we are also seeing great movement and control from Pathan, Khan and RP Singh is very good and helped India achieve victory over England.
However as usual the Australian bowling attack is fearsome. Since the absence of McGrath and Warne many would say that they lost their touch but I beg to differ. They still have arguably the fastest bowler in the world, Brett Lee, whose pace alone can shatter teams. The other bowlers have all got great swing and seam movement such as Nathan Bracken and Mitchell Johnson, and also the blistering pace of Shaun Tait. However the spin bowling lacks in talent with only one true spin bowler Brad Hogg, who in my opinion cannot alone fill the void left by Warne.
Overall however I think the conditions will have a huge deal to play as both bowling attacks are evenly matched. Spin wise India have their advantage as the Aussies with pace, but there to evenly matched to rule either out.

Considering the series starting on 26 Dec Australia has an edge.Fast and bouncy pitches are definetly going to help their bowlers and Australia has better fast bowlers than India.Series will be really interesting.

In SPIN dept. Indians are much superior to Aussies. Aussies have better Pace and Swing potential because Brett Lee and others.India is going to try ,good but bit inexperienced Pacers against Big guns like Ponting ..If Think Tanks in Indian side Forge Indian Pacers to an attacking Combine , then both sides will be evenly poised and the Tour will be anybody' game.

They are playing in fast track, the are speedstars. Our bowlers are equivalent to them.We won, world cup in 1983,Sharjah cup after that,Benzen and Hedges in Australia,Australasia cup, so,it is not only bowlers that is accounted for the victory it is team effort. In 1971,Venkat bowled very well against Windies, but Kirmani missed many a catch, there by Venkat could not shine,if you take the bowling analises of Venkat at taht tour,he had conceded only lessor number of runs, but number of wickets were less.He made the top batsmen out of the team for some time. Many batsmenhave gone to Newsland and made recovery to the team, one among I know verywell is L.Rowe, he scored 300 + against NZ.after that he naver shined..

Aussies have a better and balanced bowlers. They are very
good on bouncy pitches and Indian bowlers will struggle.
Indian bowlers are not capable of taking 20 wkts to win a test.
Let us see how well they bowl?
I am very interested to see how Indian batsmen handle Lee and
Johnson.....even Hogg!!!!
