Don't they know that winning back to back WS hasn't happened in quite some time, and is a very rare feat to do.
Their ********* and arrogance will be their undoing.
Seems like red sox fans are worse than yankee fans these days.

My bad, I should have said "bandwagon" boston fans. I know there are some REAL boston fans here that are down to earth.

worse than Yankee fans... that's harsh bro. No one is worse than a yankee fan ... they don't even know who's on their own team!
bandwagon Red Sox fans are there cause they are winning... and the Yankees are losing... whatever man. Us Sox fans rip em apart too. They are so annoying. They are blowin up our spot.
We think the Red Sox will win again because we are the most diehard fans in the universe. We really keep the faith.
If they do that will be great! If they don't I just hope the Yankees don't win it.

I'm a Red Sox fan, so of course I'd be delighted if they won the 2008 WS.
However, I'm not going around bragging about it...I can't stand people who are cocky or arrogant and that's what people who say things like--"Red Sox! 2008 WS Champions!"--are. The same goes for the Yankees or any other team!
All teams have their share of good, and bad fans. The Red Sox have just aquired a ton of bandwagoners because of their 2004 & 2007 World Series Championships. Even if I have to wait until I'm an old lady in a nursing home to see them win again, I'll still be cheering for the Red Sox.
Just know that not ALL Red Sox fans are like the ones you're describing. There are a lot of good Red Sox fans out there...but they're kind of like a garage sale...you have to pick through all the bad ones to find the good ones.=)

I really don't think about it. Sure, it'd be nice, but that sort of prediction is beyond rash and well into stupid.
The season is a long, grueling, 162-game slog; injuries happen; the other teams are right there in the chase and in the opposing dugout so it's never easy; the postseason gives three chances to be eliminated. And there's other hurdles as well. Granted, the Red Sox have a decent chance to repeat, as the roster is much the same as the one that hoisted the trophy a mere two months ago and none of the competition appears to have made overwhelming improvements, so it could happen. But any money put on the Red Sox (or any team) at this point is more for love than for confidence.
I do expect the NL champion will get chewed to bits by the AL champion, however. There really is a stark contrast between the top ends of the leagues in recent years.

My opinion is that the Red Sox have a good chance to repeat because they pretty much kept the 2007 WS team intact. Unlike other teams who have lost a lot of key players to them leaving or deciding to risk going to a team for less money because no team will pick them up for the money they want. Best team to mention about losing key players is the Yankee's I mean when you lose a manager in Joe Torre as well as other players who either followed him or retired, or even chose to try another team because they wanted Torre it makes the team unstable. Red sox are still a good team coming into 2008 but we won't know how far they will go till it happens. there are other teams in the AL who made some gusty moves and may prove to be a dark horse in the end.

As a Red Sox fan, I would like to think they would win this year, but I doubt it will happen. Anything can happen, and the Red Sox could be the worst team in the league (possible). I think there's going to be more competition this year, because the top AL teams got better. The Tigers added Cabrera and Willis, the Angels added Hunter, and the Yankees resigned their core players).

Well...I am not a bandwagon fan and I think they can repeat because I think they can win every year...I am not gonna go around thinking they are a lock but I believe they have a very good chance to win it all again next year...if you don't think the Sox have a shot to win again next year you might want to look again...they are going to be one of the favorites to win...and you know the Yankees won back-to-back-to-back less than ten years ago...which really isn't "quite some time" ago as you said.

well red sox fans will always think they will win. like the yankee fans think they will win. but if u are looking at the season coming up, if the red sox do aquire santana, then the red sox will be most people's pick to win the world series. they have enough pitching and hitting to call themselves a cotender every year. thats why boston people think they will repeat. they might not but they have a good chance

Because they had the best team in baseball last year and they are bringing them all back this year. what else to expect a fan to say man were gonna suck this year. Ever fan of every team that has a shot at winning the World series is saying their gonna do it not just Sox fans.

red sox fans think BOS will repeat? They might be right. The Red Sox have a heavy hitting lineup mixed with some speed. The addition of Santana will secure them a playoff spot next year. Weather or not they win the world series is up to them.
