How come? I don't think it's fair.

metabolisms, thyroid, all sorts of conditions.

some thin people eat like pigs and gain nothing.

some plus sized people eat hardly anything but remain large.

i have two plus sized friends who are raw vegans - they eat only raw fruits and vegetables, no animal meats or byproducts - and they are both around 250-300 lbs.

my cousin eats anything and everything he can get his hands on, isn't active, and stays very svelte.

now on the other hand, if you're skinny and eat lots of slop junk food, your insides are probably a lot less healthy than the big guy who eats a balanced diet. putting all that gross stuff in your body is just asking for illnesses and diseases. blech.

Do some resistance exercises (weights, medium # of reps with enough weight to almost fail on the last reps), and make sure you get enough protein. I used to think I could eat anything and not put on weight, but as I got older and the 9 to 5 life and kids cut back on my activity level, I put on the lard. Your body is growing as fast as you can possibly feed it. That won't last beyond 19 or so. Start thinking about cutting back on the junk while you're still young enough to develop good habits.

Just remember, there are many more bad things than just fat content in junk food - and they are getting all those nasty things too. Like cholesterhol, high sodium, trans fats, etc... Just because they are skinny doesn't mean they are healthy. Get yourself on a healthy balanced diet and exercise plan, then challenge your "lucky" little friend to a 3 mile run, and see how lucky he/she really is.

it's down to our metabolic rate..

my friend is like a twig , he can eat double what I can but it won't show as he burns the food off quickly.

as we get older , most of us our metabolic rates slow down.

you can increase that by exercise and also just keep an eye on what you eat.

it's like I drink spirits instead of beer, as beer has far more sugar in it. so I see all my old school friends who were too fond of the beer and pubs all have beer guts now..

It is actualy because of your metabolism myself I ahave a fast metabolism and am verry skinny i eat 2 chocolate bars a day
