Hells NO!! I'm so damned sick of these fundies and their attempts to keep everyone else in the Dark Ages with them.

this is quite distubing really, if fossils (biological remains of a younger species) where removed that is a blatant bow down to creationists. if they do this how long will it be before the fossils of dinosaurs are removed because they may "offend" or that darwinistic evolution is banned from veing taught in schools. imagine it; evolution is takent out of the public eye and in it's teaching at school, and college, this will have a major impact into the teaching of most of the bioogical sciences, from biochemistry and microbiology, through to ecology, and even anthropoogy. then it will be a matter of time before physics is affected as well. the big bang theory, is then removed and replaced with some half baked fairy story about the world being created in 6 days. imagine the questions that would arise!!! what about the super black hole in our neighbouring galaxy of andromeda, or the explanation of the fossil record, the similarty of species such as man, ape, the higher mammals, botony and almost every form of science. reasoning and logic will be replaced with rubbish just to prevent "offense" to the creationists. well if they can give us a better explanation with solid evidential proof, then go for it. until then leave prehistory, and the public understanding of science ALONE!!!!!!!!!!

Fossils of early man can be contained in a match box, (about 2 cubic inches) other artifacts like Piltdown man were shown to hoaxes ! So... remove what exactly... no artifacts pre date Biblical creation ! No way Creationists can be upset !!!
Questioner does not have a grasp of the issues. Sorry.

Of course not!
Bring it on, just don't expect us to believe everything said about the stuff.
Bula'ia_Aratyme below has a very interesting answer about DNA and how ours is related to primate DNA. This is evidence of a fundamental relationship between ourselves and other creatures which was already evident from our biology. There is no smoking gun here, it depends how you interpret things, there can be a variety of explanations for the same data. Uncritical interpretations are what we Christians get rightly sanctioned for all the time, but the same rules also apply to the interpretation of scientific evidence like this. What other explanations are there which would explain the same results? Have these alternate explanations been investigated? Is it even possible to narrow it down to only one possible explanation? I suspect not, but I would be interested to know.

Great question - made me laugh at first.
Would be hilarious if it weren't for the fact that people actually will not believe the evidence in front of their eyes!
In fact it's quite depressing.
I had the naive notion as a child that as time went on, mankind would learn from past mistakes and everything would be OK.
How wrong i was.
i'm going to cry now.

No, remove the Fundies.
Censorship is idiocy. These are the same people who believe that the earth is 6000 years old and the Grand Canyon was created in a recent flood. Do they even realize how stupid that makes them sound? Just let them have their fun, they will marginalize themselves into extinction and those of us with working brains will live in a new age of enlightenment.

My main concern is that the fossils will be destroyed. I think it would make sense to only display copies in museums. There is no point in showing the originals, as they are indistinguishable from good copies. Of course you need to label them correctly as copies, and the originals need to be accessible to well-accredited academics under supervision.

No.
Should crucifixes be removed from churches in order not to upset people who are sensitive to images of torture? Creationists who can't deal with the extensive evidence for evolution can protect themselves by not going to museums, or studying science, but "dumbing down" public institutions to cater to the beliefs of one or another religious group is clearly counterproductive.

Now that is just silly, The Bible only tells the time from Adam and Eve being cast out of Edan , not of time that they were in Eden? Could have been millions of years, not recorded.

No way! Christians above all things should search knowledge and truth. If God meant to create early men, he probably had some good reasons.

since creationists are fossilized, we could install them in Museums instead of the Neanderthals they wish to remove, and nobody will notice the difference.
