Blue Juliet: My parents went out and I tried to make the tree "prettier" by putting on regular Christmas light, believe me, you CAN get electrocuted!
It was a "shocking" development, LOL

I sure do, especially they way it would shock the hell out of me if I touched it. When I was a little kid I thought you could get electrocuted by one.

My grandma (mom's mother) had one at her house. It had the disc under it that turned and the whole tree would then change all different colors. Plus she had some very pretty ornaments on it as well. It was a beautiful tree to say the least. I don't know where it is at, but I would sure like to have it, even though I don't have any room whats to ever for it in this tiny trailer of mine.

My family was into the Christams tree, we had ones that went as tall as the second floor and the ones you would spray white with 20 some cans !! And of course the Silver tree with a light that turned it red, green blue!! Wasn't that a fun time!! lol!

You mean the ones with red or blue ball decorations and a flood light on the floor that had a rotating disk with different colors? Last one I saw was around 1976.

we had one when I was younger - I used to lay underneath it and watch it go around as the color wheel made it change colors - ours was also on a rotating base !
when I moved out on my own, my mother gave it to me and I used it for several years until I could afford to buy a "real" one (artificial) then I threw it away. Had I known that they would make a comeback and be worth what they are now, I would have kept it !!

yes, and all those colored wheels! My Aunt had the first one I ever saw, was I ever shocked! A metal tree that changed colors. But, it didn't smell like a tree to me, and I love the smell of fur, pine and cedar trees!

Star for U!

Yes I do. I saw one not long ago with the rotating light at an antique store. It had a hefty price tag.....wish my mom would have hung onto the one that she had.

The house across the street had one in their front window, color wheel and everything. I love them! I thought about buying one a few years ago, but they were very expensive.
