Money for carols? Not very Christmassy if you ask me. People are supposed to carol for the joy of it, not for money. Don't give them any. If you like the singing, tell them thank you. If you don't, tell them to leave, politely.

Quote this proverb to them.
Proverbs 27:14 If a man loudly blesses his neighbor early in the morning, it will be taken as a curse.

Let them know that you are tapped out from all the giving you have done and that you can sing Christmas Carols all day and you don't have to pay anyone. Christmas carols are not for sale. Chistmas is for giving.

For all you know they are singing to get money to give to a particular charity.
My fondest memories of when I was a child, was of my sister, brother and myself (in England) going from door to door singing Christmas Carols and receiving money for our efforts. We gave the money we collected to the hospital near us. In those days there were no t.v.'s blaring in the house, so therefore, everybody heard us from inside the house. These days I don't think that anybody would hear carol singers outside their door. They would be listening and watching T.V.
Why would the beautiful music at this time of year, disturb your peace. You may not want to be a grinch, but that is exactly what you are, sadly.

You are under no obligation to pay for a "service" that you have not requested. If they sing outside your home, uninvited, and expect to be paid, they're no better than "squeegie men."

This is where those foiled wrapped chocolate coins come in handy. Just purchase some of those to throw at them.
