If it is done discreetly (which, ladies, is actually possible).

It's such a shame that our "advanced" society has become so enlightened that we actually have people saying "eewwwww" to one of the most natural acts there is; a woman breastfeeding their child. As a 40-year old male I find it in no way repulsive and find those that do to be absolutely selfish and in mature. Get over yourselves you bunch of prudes. We came into this world bare *** naked. In a world of hate, intolerance, racism and so much other craziness that you can't even type it all here don't we have so much more to worry about. More than once I have defended a woman who was breastfeeding discreetly even in a public place and will continue to do so, especially when one of you freaks walks over to complain about a natural act while you have a half-smoked Marlboro hanging from your lips, blowing smoke all into my lungs and the lungs of an innocent child who has not even completely developed yet. Get over yourselves because I certainly am over you.
And by the way Mr. Daniel Hopkins, what are you, about the age of 5? Sounds like there may be some jealousy going on here? A little Oedipus complex maybe, mommy not nurse you enough. Get over it.

When I was breastfeeding my babies i was very discrete but I have had to do it in a restaurant before. I didn't if I didn't have to though. I think it is decent. It is a natural thing.

The short answer is yes, it is decent.
I'm sure that you would think nothing of someone bottle feeding a baby, why is breastfeeding any different? Because you are weirded out by breasts being used for their intended purpose? I'm sure that if a woman walks by in a low cut top practically showing her nipples you aren't offended, but you are offended by someone using their nipples and breasts for what they were made for.

The baby is hungry. What? You want the mom to starve the baby just because you can't stand the sight of a mom's breast? Anybody who sees ugliness in public breast-feeding, is a pervert. That pervert sees someone eating a hotdog in public, or drinking water from a bottle in public, as oral sex in public! Sick. Sick. Sick.

breastfeeding is part of being a mother nurturing her baby. any person who gets offended by it is just lacking some part of security. many people object because of dignity issues but they must look beyond that and see that as a mother, one is not doing nothing wrong. maybe they just need to look the other way and let the mother take care of her baby

to be honest, seeing a woman bottle feeding in public, makes me think more negative thoughts then when i see a woman breastfeeding.
i don't care if they show some breast, and i don't care if thier nipple shows a little bit when they latch the baby on/off. grow the god damn hell up, stop acting like little kids and life will be a whole lot better for you.
you seen on breast, you seen em all,... im more interested in the woman they are attached to rather then the if they are big, small, not equal sized... etc...
American and western society SUCKS.

yes it is, it all depends on personally if you are alright about it. To make is more acceptable I wouldnt just flash the breasts, I would make it so the males at there would not feel uncomfortable and hide your breasts with a blanket maybe.
