ATT has 4 high speed plans (without phoneline) with downstream speeds ranging from 768 kbps, 1.5 Mbps, 3.0 Mbps, 6.0 Mbps. and ranging in price from 19.99 to 38.99

I don't have a computer so this will only be for my console, so which level will be needed to play games like Halo/COD4 and download xtra content.

Hey bud, get 1.5, you will never be able to use 6.0 trust me. People get the misconception that say, 20 MB/Second download is gonna be faster than 10MB/Second and they pay the extra 10$. Guess what? When you play a game like halo, you are playing on another's host/upload speed. So if A guy has a 1.5 MB/Sec upload speed the most you will be downloading off him is the same as the guy next to you. If there is another player playing with you and that host. Both of you will split his host capability and you will be downloading at 750kb, a sweet and decent internet connection. Now if 20 people are in the room/game with you guys. Then his connection (1.5 Upload) will be terrible for hosting so many people... and you, well you will lag everywhere although you have a 7MB connection. So what I am saying is that.. when you go to Google.com, their servers are some of the fastest in the world, so if you have a 7MB connection you will get there in less than a second. If a 1.5 you will do the same. And BTW, ask the internet service provider what upload you will get with 1.5 compared to 6. They will be like.. well with 6 Download you get 756KB upload and with 1.5 You get 1.5upload.. and then you will be hosting a lot of Halo games... There is no benefit for downloading at 6MB compared to 1.5MB when download game content, trust me I own Halo and COD4, when you download form Bungie (Halo2) their upload is what matters and guess what.. the same share is given to a downloader who is using 1.5MB and to another using comcast 10MB. How you figure this out.. is remember how your speed sometimes when downloading from Kazaa or Limewire? Is slow at times and fast at another.. dont expect better results DONT from a 1000MB download speed. Because it is the uploader that counts..

1.5 is enough. Faster ones may sound better, but most of servers won't aloow you to use this speed. I have T1 connection, but those crazy numbers sometimes are nothing. 1.5 is enough for PS3.
