Jesus was defeated by the woman's wisdom:

"A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, 'Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is suffering terribly from demon-possession. Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, 'Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.' He [Jesus] answered, 'I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.' The woman came and knelt before him. 'Lord, help me!' she said. He [Jesus] replied 'It is not right to take the children's [Jews] bread [blessings and miracles reserved for them] and toss it to their dogs [the Gentiles].' 'Yes, Lord' she said, 'but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table.' Then Jesus answered, 'Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.' And her daughter was healed from that very hour. (From the NIV Bible, Matthew 15:22-28)"

It's funny how Jesus supposedly in the book of the New Testament, instantaneously ABROGATED his views and decision about the non-Jewish woman and people in general being equivalent to dogs when compared to the Jews. It is important to note that the woman, in this corrupted book, from the very start showed that she is a "believer" (what ever that meant back then). So it wasn't a matter of a "disbeliever" or pagan seeking Jesus' help.

The woman's wisdom defeated Jesus, the so-called "Creator of the Universe"! Jesus, within a second, changed his racist and trash-mouthed views against her from being a "dog" to a human being who deserves to be helped.

"I was sent ONLY to..." clearly and irrefutably means that Jesus initially claimed that he wasn't sent to other than the Jews!

Yes the bible calls non-Jews dogs, but Jews are worse, They are
- Children of the devil:
Joh 8:44 You are of your father the devil.
- Serpents, brood of vipers:
Mat 23:33 You serpents, you brood of vipers, how are you to escape being sentenced to hell?
- Even the Jewish prophets, he called them thieves and robbers:
Joh 10:8 All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them.

I wonder If the biblical Jesus liked anyone?
Even his own disciples he kept calling them fools!!
Luke 24:25 "O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken!

It seems that the biblical Jesus, (who is not the real Jesus) hated himself and the others .. So his death was a relief for all.

Personally, I've always found it ironic that Christians often accuse Jews of being bigoted or elitist, and yet it's the Jew they worshipped who compared gentiles to dogs. You'd be hard pressed to find a parallel in Jewish scripture or the oral tradition (the only verses I've seen have been forgeries and blatant mistranslations, like, claiming that the word "goy," which is generally but not exclusively used to refer to non-Jews and literally means "nation," somehow means "beast"). The Bible makes a lot more sense if you stick to the original edition (the Hebrew scriptures), and the accompanying Oral Tradition, which is really the key to the whole thing. That's how Christianity and Islam messed things up so badly (moreso Christianity in terms of theology) - they either are unaware of, or deliberately rejected the oral tradition that explains the Hebrew Scriptures, which are basically in a type of shorthand. That is to say, if the original revelation were likened to a college class, the Bible would be the lecture notes. The Oral Tradition is the lecture. And the professor never said anything about gentiles being less-than-human. Nonsense. All human beings are created in the image of G-d, and for that reason alone, have basic rights to life and dignity.

And yet later, at the Feast of Pentecost, the holy spirit went out upon ALL the people gathered and they began speaking in MANY different tongues and went out among the nations to spread the word.

I.E, they went to Gentiles.

If Gentiles weren't meant to be helped, would the Holy Spirit have done that?

Perhaps Jesus was sent for the Jews, but his message wasn't ultimately meant for only them?

Based from the dialogue itself, it reflects that Jesus is a racist. He just went down here to save only those which are called "Children of God". To those non-Jews, he just plans them just to be burned in hell.
To be moved by the woman's praises also explains that He is an egotistic person who always wants to be praised.

I haven't a clue. No Jew ever called me a dog. But plenty of Christians and Muslims have called me an abomination, and 'evil'.

I do know that 'Amit S' here is picking up where Hitler left off...

Not good. Bad Amit. Time for your medication.

The bible is confusing, it contradicts itself, so I believe that Jesus Christ would not call the non jews DOGs....... He would in fact hold all humans as equals....

I doubt this statement in the Bible.. to be the exact words of Jesus Christ pbh......

Peace

I find it ironic that this dehumanization of non-Jews is found in Christian scripture but not Jewish scripture. (You know, unless you count mistranslations and forgeries from White Power websites.) Go figure!

I'm glad you pointed this out, as I haven't seen this passage addressed by anyone on R&S. To answer your question, no one should be considered a dog, we are all equal and are God's children.

Good try, but you missed the Bibles explanation for what occurred here. Jesus wasn't "defeated by the woman's wisdom" at all!

In times PAST, gentiles WERE considered "dogs", and this woman KNEW and UNDERSTOOD that "salvation was of the JEWS" and that Gods plan THEN was to save all nations thru BELIEVING Israel. Israel was to believe FIRST, and then become Gods channel of blessing to the rest of the world.

The canaanite woman understood this plan and purpose of God, as is evidenced by her statement, and was letting God know she saw Israel as the channel of blessing and would be content with crumbs that fell from THEIR masters table. Since she understood Gods plan and purpose to go to the JEW FIRST, her request was granted.

In His earthly ministry Jesus WAS "sent ONLY to the lost sheep of Israel." He was born under the law and taught the law of Moses in His ministry on earth. Jesus had a TWO FOLD ministry that encompassed the two realms which He created, and had the right to rule over: ie: Heaven AND the earth (see Gen. 1:1) In His ministry on the earth, He taught and lived the law of Moses. This was JUDAISM, not Christianity.

What most professing believers today do not acknowledge or understand is that after Jesus rose from the dead and ascended, He was still giving instructions for mankind but they had CHANGED. Peter and the 12 faded OUT , while Gods appointed apostle to we, who are the church which is His BODY (the two, jew and gentile, made ONE) faded IN. The entire book of ACTS shows this TRANSITION from Judaism to Christianity; from Peter to Paul; from law to GRACE. God changed programs and SET ISRAEL aside temporarily to bring in the dispensation of the GRACE of God as the means of salvation in this present age.

The woman DID believe in the God of the Jews. Paul had not yet been raised up by God, and Christianity had not yet begun. It was still a "SECRET", and "HID IN GOD" until God raised up PAUL TO BE IT'S MINISTER.

So, please don't pretend to understand the God of the Universe when you haven't studied His Word to see that the explanations are all there. We are told HOW to correctly read and understand His Word in 2 Tim. 2:15 where it says "to STUDY to show ourselves approved unto God, a workman that doesn't need to be ashamed, RIGHTLY DIVIDING the Word of TRUTH."

This means we don't take scripture OUT of context to try and prove that which isn't supported by comparing scripture WITH scripture.

In His earthly ministry, Jesus wasn't confused, and neither were the JEWS. They WERE His chosen people in times PAST to be the channel of blessing to the rest of the world. This was called "the gospel of the circumcision."

Because of UNBELIEF, God has set the Nation Israel aside as that channel of blessing and has initiated a NEW program (ie: Christianity), NOT based on the law of Moses , but on GRACE, and has made the two (Jew and Gentile) into ONE. This gospel is called the "gospel of the GRACE of God", or the "gospel of the UNCIRCUMCISION. The two are NOT the same!

There is NO distinction today , and Israel has no distinction in this present age of Grace. She is "lo Ammi", which means "not my people." * NOTE: God will again resume His program with Israel in "ages to come"...AFTER this "time of the gentiles is fulfilled" and we are raptured to be with OUR LORD IN THE AIR.

No one defeats the Creator of the Universe! Not even we in our ignorance. He has told us in His Word how the pieces of the puzzle all fit.

Jesus wasn't being racist or trash mouthed, and wasn't being unkind to the woman. It WAS a known fact , and SHE Understood it, that salvation was to the JEW FIRST, and then to the gentile nations. This is WHY Jesus answered her request! No one was offended at this order of events.

It is you who doesn't understand how God dealt with the world in times PAST.

I hope this helps you understand better, so as NOT to misrepresent Gods plan and purpose, OR His character, to others.
