I only have a shower in my house, and don't know what i am going to do when my son gets too big for the baby bath. Can you get a bigger bath for toddlers? Any ideas??

I should add my son absolutely loves his baths, I have thought he'll just have to get showers, but just wondered if there was another solution.

Yes, they make a tub for toddlers, which is larger than an infant tub. Its shaped like a big duck and it quacks when u squeeze its beak. I was in a stituation like you when my daughter was 1, and I bought this duck tub, she outgrew it by her 2nd birthday, but luckily by than we were able to have a better place with a tub. It does get to small for most babies pretty fast, but it definitely was worth buying it, it cost about $15, and the company that makes it is Munchkin.

Do you have a laundry tub? My kids used to fit in the laundry tub for ages and they loved it. It is also great because it is highsided and you don't have to bend over.
Or you could get a larger tub (metal or plastic) from a hardware store most likely, to put in the shower and just fill it with the showerhead and then empty straight into the shower. Or take him into the shower with you. My kids shower with me all the time and it did take them a little getting used to, but I would pick them up when they needed to get the soap off and stuff and then when I put them down I would angle the shower head more toward the wall and away from them. I also give them a sponge with a little soap on it so they can 'clean' the shower doors until I'm finished. Sometimes I will also place a face washer over the plug hole which they then sit on (so the water doesn't escape) and let the bottom fill a little bit with water, then turn off the shower and let them splash around in there till I get dry and dressed.

Plenty of people don't have bath tubs and your child will just get used to whatever you end up doing.

we had this problem as well we only had a shower till my daughter was 4 and she hated the thing so we kept her in a baby bath when she got to big she stood up in it but she had a bath on a weekend at my mum's but my youngest loves the shower she has done since she was about 1 but we got her use to it slowly like the first couple of times in the shower were just for fun then we started washing her but not her hair(that's the bit they hate the most) and we let her rinse the soap of with a little jug now she's two and a half and shower time is her favourite time even hair wash time is fun she pours water over her tummy i pour water over her head.

We have about a 3 or 4 inch step down into our shower. We just plug the drain and my son, he's almost 2, gets a shallow bath. The only thing that works for us to plug the drain is a canning lid from a quart or pint jar.

when my son got too big for the baby bath....

i hopped in and bathed with him. so bath time turned from rubber ducky splish splash time...to shower time.

i bought a mini basketball dealie with the suction cups, some other toys and now my boy loves shower time and he never wants to get out.

tip:

buy a detachable shower head, that makes bathing the baby WAY easier.

get him use to taking showers. Introduce it now so that by the time he does out grow the baby tub he will be ready for the transition. Also make it fun and enjoyable for him. Think up a game. I tell my kids its time to play in the rain and they love it.

if your shower head comes off and you can hold it in your hand.Put the baby bath in the shower tray while he is in it at bath time.

and slowly and gently introduce him to the spray, don't hold it over his head or he will get frightened, start off by putting it over his hands, legs, just for a moment to let him feel the water .Do this every time he has a bath so that when he's too big for it the shower won't be strange to him

Get him accustomed to the shower. Start taking him there with you. You could always wash him down in the kitchen sink! We done this with out two when they were toddlers when we've been on holiday lol :o)

Get a small blow up pool and put it in the shower. That's what we do at my dad's house.
