God is perfect, powerful, and almighty, but why did he make us to be so flawed? It's something that I never understood.

You might say it came from Adam and Eve's original sin, but WHERE did that original sin first originated from?

Was it actually created by Adam and Eve and not by God himself?

I hope you guys understand what I'm trying to ask.

God gave Adam and Eve a choice
I would say that sin came from the wrong choice

God did not create sin. But He did create beings capable of it. This is not a flaw.

God created human beings as sapients (thinking intelligent beings capable of making self-directed decisions based on personal knowledge, desire, understanding, or lack there-of). He created humans in His image, and God has the ability to do whatever He chooses. We have that ability too, albeit limited to within our personal power and knowledge. God made us this way purposefully.

We, however, chose to sin. Sin isn't so much a thing created, so much at is a breaking down of a thing created. If the universe were a computer, sin would be corrupted data on the hard drive. Sin came from our self directed will, then subsequently enslaved our will (after that first sin) to a compulsion to continue sinning. Jesus came to set us free, and the Holy Spirit and the Word of God give us the ability and opportunity to once again make the choice between God and sin. So we can then, by God's grace, choose to do what is right.

God did not make Adam "flawed". God created Adam and Eve with the power of choice, so that all mankind from then on would have the same....HE WILL NEVER FORCE HIMSELF on anyone, otherwise, His followers would be nothing more than just kind of like "robots" following a leader. He offers his gift of eternal life through the death, burial and resurrection of His Son, Jesus as a FREE GIFT, and every person who has ever lived on this earth has the choice as to whether or not to believe that. If they CHOOSE NOT to believe it, they are left with nothing but what the devil offers.....the lake of fire, or hell, forever. The "original sin" was not something God created, it was the choice made by Eve, and then Adam, when they were deceived into believing a lie the devil told them. He told them that God had lied to them, and they CHOSE to believe it, thus changing man's original nature from a pure, holy one, to one of death, UNLESS he chooses GOD's free gift, Jesus, to get him back into the right kind of relationship with God the Father, and out of the hands of the devil.God CANNOT lie. He is absolute purity, love, and holiness. He is the Way, the Truth and The Life. The way of the devil leads to nothing but death.
Hope this helps, and hope you make the right choice.

Hmmmmm, good one..... I will give you MY thoughts about it.... can not speak for anyone else.... Sin came into being when satan (Lucifer) turned on God.... Nope, even the angels are not robots, they too have the ability or did, to turn from God.... God created Adam, and brought forth Eve from Adam, has his help meet, completion, they had the *perfect* life, and it would have been forever, that was the plan, but: now I ask you a question, just to ponder: How could God do less for His creation, man, than He did for the Angels ? give them the *choice* of obedience ?? there was only ONE LAW or RULE, do NOT eat of the tree..... go in peace... God bless
*note- God let us *become* flawed by our own doings.. Adam and Eve were not flawed....
** note- I can not speak for God.. I do NOT have all the answers.. I wonder myself at times about these things..... *Sigh*.....

In the Christian tradition I think Sin is wound up with Satan who was an original powerful and favourite angel in God's Kingdom and got jealous of God wanted more power and God kicked him out of heaven many many moons ago and Satan started doing his works against Goodness (I think??) and I think the idea is that Sin came into the world and of course is still with us and the Head Honcho is still Satan. I think part of the story of Jesus and his crucifixion was that when he died on the cross he descended into Hell to wrest some keys away from Satan and so had power of life over death (But don't quote me as I am ad libbing this a bit and from memory.). Now I don't know at what time the Devil was kicked out of Heaven like whether it was before the Dinosaurs or whenever??? Hey that comet that killed off most of them might have been Satan rocketing down from Heaven??????? Well it is feasible isn't it??? Thumbs down from the Fundies - Go on I dare you!!!!!!!

Now Adam and Eve were evidently instructed by God not to partake of forbidden fruit and Satan in the form of a serpent swayed them into disobeying the Lord but the thing is they did have free will granted to them by God and Eve gave Adam the Apple and so stuffed us all up??????

The Catholic teaching on Original Sin is very good but complex, free will has always been Gods design and even now we are perplexed by a God that really loves us and lets us choose what we want. Just like a Father!
He did not make us flawed but human. A monk said to me once "God wants the love of man/woman not of an ***"

Part of God's plan is for us to grow and progress. How can we do that if we dont have any type of trials or opposition in our lives. If we lived in a dazed dreamlike state all our lives, what kind of existance would that be? Would we ever truly grow or progress?
Another part of the plan is to test us to see if we are worthy to inheirit our divine attributes as literal children of our heavenly father. We have a divine heritage. We have the divine potential to be like our father. We have to prove we can handle and be responsible for such an awesome priviledge. How can we do that if we are never tested or tried?

God created sin in that he created the rules we must live by and if we go against those rules then we are sinning. We choose to sin or not, though.

Our spirits and bodies are independent and seperate from God. He doesnt control who we are and our choices anymore then you could control your own children. We are his children, not just some blob of a creation he whipped up.

Adam and Eve did the world a favor by sacrificing their bliss so that Gods plan could be carried forward. They shouldnt be blamed. They should be commended.

Sin= Literally, a missing of the mark, according to the Hebrew(Old) and Greek(new testaments)Bible texts. God himself sets the" mark" that his intelligent creatures are to reach. Missing that mark is sin, which is also unrighteousness, or lawlessness.(Romans3:23 ; 1John5:17 ; 3:4) Sin is anything not in harmony with God's personality, standards, ways, and will, all of which are holy. It may involve wrong conduct, failure to do what should be done, ungodly speech, unclean thoughts, or desires or motives that are selfish. The Bible differentiates between inherited sin and willful sin, between an act of sin over which a person is repentant and the practice of sin.
How was it possible for Adam to sin if he was perfect?
When Jehovah God pronounced his earthly creation, including man and woman, to be "very good"what did it mean? For one whose activity is perfect to have said that what he made was "very good", it must have measured up to his perfect standards.
For Adam and Eve to qualify as being created perfect, must all their decisions thereafter be right? That would be the same as saying that they had no choice. But God did not make them in such a way that their obedience would be automatic. God granted them the ability to choose, so that they could obey because they loved him.Or, if they allowed their hearts to become selfish, they would become disobedient. Which means more to you-when someone does something for you because he is forced to do it or because he wants to?
How could such perfect humans become selfish, leading to acts of sin? Although created perfect, their physical bodies would not continue to function perfectly if not provided with proper food. So too, if they let the mind feed on wrong thoughts, this would cause moral deterioration, unholiness. (James1:14,15)explains:"Each one is tried by being drawn out and enticed by his own desire, when it has become fertile, gives birth to sin." In the case of Eve, the wrong desires began to develop when she listened with interest to satan, who used a serpent as his mouthpiece. Adam heeded the urging of his wife to join her in eating the forbidden fruit. Instead of rejecting the wrong thoughts, both nourished selfish desires. Acts of sin resulted(Genesis3:16)satan is the originator of sin he deceived Eve into committing sin and she then urged her husband to join her in it God did not plan or create sin.

well i guess in a way since god CREATED EVERYTHING and knows everything thatll happen before it happens he did kinda create sin the devil being the first sinner by luring adam and eve i guess you could say god hopes that we will do the right thing on our own free will instead of being lured in just like adam and eve(which does not make god evil hoping for something to change even though you can tell it wont doesnt make you evil...man im starting to sound like my mom... )

In a sense God created sin. Just by existing, God has an opposite, not-God or sin. What happened is God gave man the choice to sin and man decided to sin. God can not sin because it is against his nature, but the choice is there because whatever is not of God's nature is by definition sin.
