Hello first how are you? I am a christian and just think about it millions of people have seen the pope and I gurantee it everyone ain't going directly to heaven just because they laid their eyes on him. Being a christian this is what I believe the only way you get to heaven is that you must accept God in you life and mean it, follow his commandments, and love God with all your heart and be willing to ask for forgiveness when you are wrong and mean it get it right and don't give up, read his word now that's how you get into heaven. Now the pope is only flesh and blood like me and not saying he doesnot follow God and love him but I am saying millions of people should have gone to heaven but it is not true you have a blessed day.

I saw Pope John Paul II once and I didn't go directly to heaven. I stayed right here on earth. So did everyone else there. There are, in fact, no mass Raptures whever the Pope goes.

No. You just happen to be a very lucky and blessed person to see the leader of the Roman Catholic Church.
People go directly to heaven only if they are entirely sinless (which is not possible nor likely), have sacrificed themselves to save someone else, or done other incredibly unselfish, good deeds not in their name or in the hope they will go to heaven but because those said deeds are simply good.

That is not true. You go to heaven when you repent your sins to God the Father and Jesus Christ the Son and The Holy Spirit.
Think about your friends statement: Is the Pope God, He is a mortal man and none of us are perfect, we all have sinned and fail short in the Glory of God.
If you happen to sin, ask for forgiveness immediately and continue on living for God.
God is peace and tranquility not hatred, killing of another and chaos! Satan is...

"I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you know me, you will know my Father also." ( John 14:6-7)
"Call no one your father on earth, for you have one Father - the one in heaven. Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one instructor, the Messiah." ( Matthew 23:9)
The pope has NO power. If you want to go to Heaven you have to accet that you are a sinner, believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins, ask Jesus to be your Saviour.

well i personally have never been to heaven and back in the same lifetime so i'm not 100% positive. but i'm pretty sure that going to "heaven" as you call it, requires much more than a petty glance at some religious figure in the catholic government.

I was in St Peter's Square on the day that they elected the new pope.
I saw him come out onto the balcony in his finery.
I did not find myself transported to paradise directly.
Ridiculous suggestion and you really have to ask if it's true?
You may as well ask whether any of the many gods currently in favour are real ... Of course not!!!
