I suggest you come and visit at least. You might like it here, but it sounds like you have a good life already. So unless you come and see what we have to offer here you just won't know.

Don't listen to naysayers who say we are in an economic crises. They listen way too much to the far left media. Economies go up and down Economics 101. Just because three percent of the housing market is crashing doesn't mean Our whole economy is going to fall.
I would agree with everyone else and say you should defiantly come for a visit.
Moving here though you should consider many factors. Do you have a degree that would allow you to make more money here than in your country? Are you willing to gamble your current standard of living? Can you easily go back to it? It is rare to make a good living here without either doing hard physical labor or a college degree. This is a great country with a lot of opportunity.

If you can get a leave of absence from work, bring your family here for a visit.
But I suggest you do alot of research first.
Like what state to live in, their job, housing, economic situations. Pick a couple to check out in person.
Don't come here, land in NY and look to settle there.
There are 50 states to choose from, find one that has what you are looking for when you think of the USA.

There is a saying "It's better to see once than to hear a hundred times". It all depends on your situation. Give it a try and if you do not like it, come back to your native country. I assume that because you applied for immigrant visa you wanted to immigrate, otherwise why waste time/effort?

We are going through an economic crisis right now. If you come I would suggest just as a visit. Keep your job and standard of living, because I know many immigrants who have had their standards of living decreased and couldn't find work in their field of expertise as they had in their home country.

Just visit. Wait a couple years until our economy gets better. Thats to say, if it does get better. You should have even more money saved up by then and have a good idea of what you want.
Things here aren't looking so hot.
