Genetic studies have found that the Romans left little to no genetic make on Britain.
The Saxons invaded England and mixed with the British population, with the population haveing a germanic streak but still remaining overwhelmingly British. Changing the genocide view.
The Vikings conquered parts of Eastern England and some of Scotland mixing with the Brits the about same amount as the Saxons had.
The Normans came of Admistrators and left the same mark as the Romans.
Thus the population until the last 200 years has been overwhelmingly British.
I have researched this with genetic testing and historical records.

That is perhaps correct but who were the people that were here long before the Romans came, we call ourselves Britons but there are suggestions that the early settlers came from as far afield as the Basque country and that according to data i read recently the Druids originated from the Middle East. I think in years to come more DNA evidence will determine who our ancestors were. Its a fascinating subject and something i am very much interested in.

Over the last two hundred years, the Royal family have not been overwhelmingly British. Her Majesty the Queen is about one third German, Prince Phillip is Greek, making Prince Charles less than 50% British (and also the son of an immigrant). His children have been a force for good, with one serving in the army, in fact, he would have served in Iraq if he could.

As for genetic studies stating that the Romans have left little genetic heritage in the UK, well that is balls. The Romans occupied the UK for a very very long time as did the Normans. There is a lot of Germanic blood amongst the Roman Norman populations as if you look at history, there was a lot of migration trade and invasions between the areas that are now termed France, Italy, Germany and the Benelux.

Immigration has left a huge mark on the UK in the past and will no doubt continue to do so.

One mark of how immigration has changed the UK in the past are the geographic locations of the Celtic Languages. If you look, they are in Wales, Scotland and Ireland. The only place that they are still spoken in England is in Cornwall. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Insular_Celtic_languages Your link supports my view with red hair being common in Wales and Scotland, but less so in England. The only 'true' Brits are the Welsh and the Scots!

The Roman army was not only made up of citizens of Rome so it would be really unusual if their was any Roman blood in the population anyway. Most of the study I have done on the Roman army that was sent to Britain was made up of men from outside of Italy. So looking for Roman genetics would be useless. But if you look for the other members of what made up the Roman army you will find that they sure did mix with the local Britions.

I'm Welsh so I guess that makes me an original Briton.

No Viking or Saxon in me!

And I am sick of people coming to this country to take our jobs and homes away,I wish we could keep this country for the Brits. Yes immigration can enrich a country but right now its just gone beyond a joke. We need to get OUT of the EU and limit those coming in to highly skilled shortage professions only.

And thats the view of an "original" Brit.

During the last Ice Age almost all of the British Isles could not have been occupied by anyone.
So the original Britons mush have come from Europe when the ice reteated.
We were all Europeans then, as we are now.

Sounds pretty accurate to me. So we're a mongrel nation but a thoroughly white, Anglo-Saxon-Celtic-Romano-Briton kind of mongrel.

Unless you work at the BBC of course, in which case, the African invasion of Britain began in 1066 and we're all black really, innit.

Does it really matter who was the original Britons ? What matters now is we don't lose our identity of what we perceive to be British. Those who come to this country MUST accept our ways and adapt to our way of life, This is our country and if people want to settle here then they should have no alternative but to change, or leave. The P.C of this country are the real traitors to Britain.

whats it matter on genetic mix, if your english fly the flag proud. welsh the same, scots with gusto. i'm irish and will fight to the death for a brit to fly the flag of their own country as they see fit. but i will never spill blood for the union flag. its as abbhorent as the nazi flag to a jew in my veiw. no such thing as a true brit, english yes! scots yes! welsh yes! charles dickens english, what about doctor lister and dylan thomas suddenly they become not scots or welsh but british. wellington, the iron duke was irish but he hated his own people and country of birth. patriotism is a step short of eugenics.

Yes but those were Caucasian races. They adapted easily because they were European . Today's hotchpotch is an experiment with dangerous consequences.Multiculturalism is only workable if all participants demand it and adhere to it in practise and spirit of the occasion,
