Thankfully it's no longer open as I understand it. But rest assured there are many more places just like it or worse. There is within Christianity right now a movement that is not unlike what has been going on in Islam for decades. A movement that consider themselves Gods warriors. They may not have done violence yet,but the key word is Yet. You don't take a person and move them from prayer to violence overnight. You do it in steps over decades. In Islam 40 years ago it was a much smaller movement that advocated violence, now it's becoming more and more normal, hundreds of thousands rioting in the streets ready to kill over a cartoon. Once you get into the followers minds deeply enough, you can get them to kill or die at the drop of a hat.

That same movement has been quietly going on in Christianity for years, instilling in the children in tons of places just like "Jesus Camp" a more radical view of their religion. Instilling in them the idea that they are "Gods Soldiers" You don't use the terminology of war, unless you intend to wage war.Periodically we see the results,an Abortion Clinic bombing or some such.

Everyone should be worried about stuff like Jesus Camp. The natural instinct is to laugh and say they're a few nuts, you could not possibly be more wrong!!

I agree; the whole move was exactly like America's Al Queda.

I watched the whole thing in horror.

I am happy that the Youth Pastor is no longer allowed to preach. She still gives talks, sadly. Not too long after the video her church revoked her title. Other people like her still run similar camps or youth groups which have not been shut down.

I hate religious violence. Its movies like that that make me wonder if organized religion is a good thing. Humans tend to group and have an "us" verses "them" mentality. When an extremest leader rises up the sheep follow. It sickens me most when these sheep are children. Teaching them at such an early age ingrains it into their view of the world and is so hard to change when they're older. Or at least I've found this true with personal experience...

I'll stop before I rant too much about the movie and similar people.

On a side note... I wonder how many people actually liked the movie and wish the lady was still a Youth Pastor? *shiver* I was among them once..

It certainly frightening to see the results of "group think".
We can hope that some of these kids will get away from this environment and be exposed to something different.

Others unfortunately will stay close to the clan and procreate.

Let's hope that education and hence reason/rationality will eventually prevail.

Lets awl reed thee bilbul withun owr frosty flakes in thee mornin' and owr weiner samwiches ever night

The movie certainly shows "de-evolution" .

yeah. i saw that movie and found it disturbing too. you'll be pleased to know that Jesus Camp is no longer in operation. tho no doubt there are other Christian behavioral conditioning centers pumping bigotry and theocratic ambitions into the innocent minds of little children.

i still wonder what happened to that little boy who idolized that mega church preacher Ted Haggard who was was outed for doing meth amphetamine and having sex with a male prostitute. i mean .. it must have crushed that kid to see a person he looked up to as a "man of God" revealed to be a corrupt and lying hypocrite. talk about disillusionment.
