If the common belief is that everyone is a sinner and falls short at times, what happens if Jesus comes at a time when YOU just happen to be sinning? Will it be too late to repent and claim a spot in Heaven?

If it is too late to repent, do you think it would be fair to you, that of all the times Jesus could have come he decides to come when you're doing something you shouldn't be?

If it's not too late for you to repent and claim a spot in Heaven, then why bother people of other beliefs? Won't they have the same opportunity to repent that you would have when Jesus returns?

For those of you claiming the "once saved always saved" theology, does this also hold true for those who have moved on to other faiths, or even NO faith?

Interesting thought and some points to consider-

If we are imperfect, can we remember to repent and ask forgiveness for EVERYTHING we have ever done?

What if we are in a car crash and don't have time before we die?

What if we are in our homes and some sudden freak accident occurs, and we die instantly- will we still have time then?

If one truely repents, it intimates they have turned completely from that behavior. Lets not kid ourselves- humans will continue to be imperfect.

How does one get 'a spot in heaven'? Is there a finite number of spots? How does one earn a spot, or is it first come first served?

Not trying to be a smart alek- just some thoughts to stir up the conversation a bit...

No matter how I word this answer I think I am gonna get blasted and the thumbs down will pile up higher than Mt. Fugi, but here goes: and PLEASE remember this is from a *Child of Gods* point or I should say MY point of Faith: We all fall short of the Glory, ALL flesh is sinning, we are all sinners, according the Word of God... Those who are brought by grace into the Body of Christ, not all that claim the tittle Christian are, and I dare not say who is and who is not, but again, that is Biblical, are forgiven by the finished work of the cross: we are dead to sin, the old Adamic nature, sin nature, died on that cross with Jesus: God saw us on that cross with Jesus.... It is ONLY to late to *believe* God when we take our last breath.... some think other wise I know... We are NOT chained by guilt of sin or sin itself, or law.... We do not carry that yoke or burden.... However, IF we are brought into the * Body of Christ* we strive to NOT sin, run the good race, live in the spirit and not the flesh, for our citizenship is in Heaven not here on earth: the Bible states each man shall be judged, rather good or evil, and Christians who stand before the Bema set, will be rewarded or not for their works here on earth: I do not believe in the once saved always saved, because each person can denounce God, However , those who are *truly* brought into or made members of the *Body of Christ* or *True Church* can NOT be taken away.... and at the second coming, it will be *late* maybe not *to late* because the Bible clearly states there will be *followers* that do come out of the tribulation, for some... the point is; I need to study this more I guess.... *sigh*... go in peace... God bless

If you have asked for forgiveness before, then all your sins, past, present, and future are forgiven.

It doesn't work like that. Jesus isn't a practical joker that will throw someone in hell the second before they repent. What happens is that all the people who have already been saved are raptured to heaven with him. Anyone who has not been forgiven will stay on earth, and they will have 7 years to accept him. If they do in that time, they will be saved.

Sincerly, I can say that I think about this at the times when my temper and patience are short............I would have shame..........my salvation would not be forsaken..........

what if? my husband came home to a burnt dinner? would it discard all the tasty meals I have prepared?

what if? I could not heal my daughter's broken heart? would it mean I failed to heal the scrapes and skinned knees?

what if? I cause an accident? would it mean all those defensive driving techinques were useless?

what if? I miss a day of work........would it mean that all other contributions were ineffective?

If Jesus found me sinning, I would be accountable, I would be embarrassed, but it would not forefeit all the goodness, all the faithfulness, all the obeidence, all the prayer, all the study, all the desire and striving to be Christlike..............it would simply testify to how much I need Jesus and His grace.....

He'll make you take the dollar bill back from the stipper's g-string so that it can be deposited to it's rightful place in the church tithing tray. Then, and only then, can you join Him in Heaven.
