You are asking two questions here. The first one is being answered as best as possible. As my 96 year old grandmother says, "When you die, that is it, you are dead. No more."

But the second answer plays into an oft repeated stereotype about agnostics. The answer, is "YES", we do believe in many many things. We have convictions, we have love, we have faith (in humanity, not an Xian diety), we have many thoughts about many things, just like you Xians. Most are probably just like what you Xians have, except for belief in the supernatural. ...We may also have more confidence (and understanding) in science. But please stop thinking we don't have principles without a Jesus. Jeez.

human beings in many circumstances go away a church via fact some member of that church has deeply offended them. a lot of them ensue at Unitarian-Universalist church homes and the common club there is 3 a million/2 years. U-U individuals freely properly known that "different church homes" shop the U-U church going. a huge rationalization for the offense is that Christian church homes often do no longer instruct doctrines, and that's via fact no person in the church is familiar with what it rather is approximately, no longer even the minister. you are able to thank a hundred years of vacationing preachers and their "hellfire and brimstone" preaching for that. So devoid of doctrines there is no longer something yet social touch to hold a church collectively, and that's no longer solid sufficient while human beings go through religious hurts. it is the reason it rather is stated that "Christian squaddies shoot their wounded." while the rubber meets the line, the gas tank is empty!

I believe in this world, and this life.
I believe that to spend your life in preparation for an "afterlife," is to waste the life you have.
When we die, we're dead. Gone. Forever. Sorry to ruin your day.
If you're so worried about death, get busy and start living. Have some fun. Make a difference in the world. Make folks remember you; THAT'S immortality. Forget heaven. It's not there. You're here, now. Get off your butt and DO something.

The matter that constitutes your body returns to the source, the Earth, and your energy is released as heat to the environment. There is no 'afterlife' of any sort, save for in the memories of people you have touched in your life.

As you have to be conscious to have beliefs this question is an oxymoron. You die you are dead - there is nothing.

Our conscious existence ends. Basically, it's the same as before we were born. We're not there.
