Why do some get what they want while others seem to be denied? I want to be happy, that is my only wish and prayer, yet I'm friendless and can only speak my mind to a community of strangers. I'm a christian to my best ability yet I'm constantly depressed, where is my savior? I thought he listens yet my 17yrs have been spent in sadness. I wonder if he is out there or have we as christians blinded ourselves to the truth?

Listen to me and understand this. Consider the ones who find this world terrible,those who are suffering and are unrestless, are blessed. God wants us to follow his way, not the way of the world. Following his way can cleanse us, make us pure so that we can enter his kindom.
Remember the saying "happy are those who are poor in heart, for theirs is the Kingdom of God". It should let you know that you are here to show you are humble and are poor enough for the riches in heaven. Don't despair.
Be happy. This what Jesus wants. And furthermore keep praying.

No! God did not put anyone on this earth for the purpose of suffering that was never part of his plan,the truth is god is there he is watching us in our pain and he is feeling our pains, but he does provide a way out, in his Word the Bible he tells us how we can find happiness and the real life(John17:3)we are told that we need to take in accurate knowledge to have the real life God intended for us, but yes Christians can blind themselves to the truth, that is what satan wants to do to blind people to the truth(1Corinthians4:4) 4The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
Still you are right we are living in times where there is a lot of suffering going on, but it is not because god wants us to suffer, for if he did these2 verse wouldn't be in the Bible
(Revelation21:3,4)And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.
4.He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."
No, soon God will remove all sadness and the things causing us misery, and he will restore the type of conditions for us that he intended for us to enjoy from the beginning, when he put mankind on the earth. So all that want to know him and learn about his true qualities he will bless with happiness and much joy, they will lack nothing and he will satisfy the desire of every living thing(Psalm145:16)16 You open your hand
and satisfy the desires of every living thing. So your desire for friends and a happy life he can satisfy also
