You'll be told and/or given a list of your responsibilities and the companies goals.
No doubt there will be an orientation with a Human Resources (HR) booklet covering absence policies, dress codes, insurance coverages (if offered), expectations of employee conduct, etc.
Possibly a quick tour of the facilities, to show where the break room is located, first aid supplies, emergency equipment (extinguishers/fire equipment), time clock, restrooms, etc.
Hey, good luck in your new job.

hi
You should expect to be further oriented with your new position. You will learn how to bus tables and do all of the other things that you were hired to do. It will most likely get tiring, but rewarding once you get your first paycheck. Congratulations!
Well, maybe this will help you feel better. On my first day of work I woke up sick, I had a 24 hour flu bug or something. I went to work anyway though because I didn't want to miss my first day of work. During the orientation meeting I had to get up three times to throw up and the worst part was that I was pale so the people I got hired with knew exactly why I was getting up. I ended up having to go home. Luckily the bosses weren't angry, they found it funny that it happened my first day and they felt bad for me too. I was afraid I was going to get fired. I've been there two months now.
Good luck on your new job, you can't possibly have as bad of a day as I did.
For one thing, don't eat right before you go run, at least an hour if you don't want any cramps. You should expect lots of running, like a few miles. Sprinters usually run less but harder, fast-paced runs while long-distance go for a nice, long run through the woods or track. Bring lots of water and don't eat junk food, or you'll find yourself overheating and sweating a lot- not cool!

First of all, realize that everyone else is in the same boat with you. On the first day you will get oriented to the place you work and what your particular job is and who the head honchos are. That's usually the way it works. Don't sweat it.

You should probably expect to read a lot of manuals and sign a lot of paperwork for insurance purposes. You'll also probably watch videos and get trained on your job. Good luck!
