a part of, ruled by or owned by the UK? i am being deported to the UK because i am not a citizen of the US even though i have grown up in the US, been here since i was three and know very little about the UK other then that i will not be well liked there because of where I'm from so id rather go to some hole in the Earth territory in Africa or something then be treated like crap in England, isn't part of Africa under British rule? maybe some nice tropical island somewhere?

the first two answers are exactly why i don't want to go to England, such hatred for Americans. i didn't even say anything offensive all i said was that i didn't want to live somewhere where i would be treated like crap because of where i am from. i think id rather commit suicide then have to spend the rest of my life being treated like i am crap and being called a "yank"

by the way i am about 5000 miles away from the part of the US where people are called "Yanks" that term is for people living in the north eastern US , specifically northern new England and nowadays it is mostly a derogatory term even to them. the USA is a pretty big chunk of land. we aren't all the same people. i live in the far southwestern part of the country.

If you are a British Citizen you could live anywhere in the EEC. From Ireland in the west to Poland or Slovakia in the east. From southern Spain up to near the arctic circle in Estonia, Latvia or Lithuania.
You're wrong to think we don't like Americans. Some of us don't like some of their government's foreign policies, that's all.

I don't know what the gentleman asking the question sees that I don't, but I've met many, many Brits, and never detected the SLIGHTEST hostility toward Americans, or vice versa.

In fact, I'd say there's no nationality we welcome more in our country than our friends from the U.K., and the former British commonwealth nations.
Although I think we're very receptive to all nationalities.

To the guy asking the question: the world is what you make it, and if you go in with a negative attitude, that's likely how you'll be received.
Go in with a welcoming attitude, and you'll be welcomed.

Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales and most of England are not bigoted to Americans, not all of us are like that and I'm sure it wouldn't be to nice in places in America for us.

i agree with lilmissy above, bog off to some hell hole and mind you dont trip over your big assumed American ego

ps to all you real and nice Americans, you're welcome here anytime

your question is laden with hatred for the UK, you can tell just by reading it, that you have some preconceived notions about us which are crap, no wonder you got the answers you did. why don't you start by looking up what the UK is, we are not territories, we don't treat the Americans like crap, they are our closest allies and as you are still a British citizen, I suggest you lose the attitude and learn to love your identity
