Have you put water in the tree today? Trees can go through a gallon of water a day, don't let them dry out and become a fire hazard.
Did you know that holly and mistle toe are poisonous? Careful around pets and children. Also pointsettia plants are a danger.
Do you light candles? Please make sure those are in a safe place and alway extinguised before going to bed.

This year is the first time we have an artificial tree. Never knew anything abt what you mentioned. Good info... TQ.
