Eat all the meat you want. I'm sure your diet is not even on God's radar of concerns.

Because it gives you gas? I don't know! Think about this for a minute. There are wars, diseases, and natural disasters that are causing all kinds of chaos and havoc all over the world. So I don't think that God cares what you're eating. It's definitely not on his short-list of concerns. Be thankful that you have something to eat at all! I say, eat and be merry, and do whatever you can to help your fellow man. That is true religion.

Apparently you were satisfied with the "puzzled look" answer you received. If you weren't then you should have made sure they knew you really did not know why YOU can't eat meat. I don't have the answer, I think you should eat whatever you desire.

I haven't heard that either. I know around Easter (before?), my mom used to get after me not to eat meat, I think on Fridays. I could never see the sense in it, therefore didn't pay attention....

That's a new one on me. I intend on eating meat tomorrow. Have been for many years now and on the same date.

Ronald McDonald will shake his fist at the person who said that. Like God really cares what a person eats on a particular day.

Because it's unbiblical tradition set by a church that does not count the scriptures as being good enough to have authority over them.
The Bible says this about not eating on certain days:
Romans 14
1 Receive one who is weak in the faith, but not to disputes over doubtful things.
2 For one believes he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats only vegetables.
3 Let not him who eats despise him who does not eat, and let not him who does not eat judge him who eats; for God has received him.
4 Who are you to judge another’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand.
5 One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind.
6 He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he who does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks.
7 For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself.
8 For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.

Unless you have a medical or dental problem, I would say eat what you like.
