Can I tell God a joke in a prayer?

Question

If I were to get down on my knees and pray to God and slip in a prayer, do you think he'd laugh? Would he find it humorous? If so, what kind of sense of humor do you think he has? Blonde jokes? Poke fun at him and tell him he's gay for creating the platypus? Of course I'd assure him I'm kidding about that.

I suppose he'd already know since he knows all.. Anyway, what about slapstick? What if I was praying with my elbows on the bed and they fell off and sacked me? He's bust a nut for sure wouldnt he? I mean, surely the big guy even needs to laugh from time to time.. Doesn't he?

How is it disrespectful to want to make someone laugh?

Of course, you can tell God a joke in a prayer. I'll bet he laughs with you, especially since, I believe that we are all connected to God (electro-chemically) so you are entertaining your "higher self" when you share your "joke."

The only true God and Creator Jehovah has a Sense of Humor. (the platypus) seriously watch the playfulness of puppies otters ;and all his creatures and you know he enjoys a good laugh and we are made in his image.
Laughing is healthy.

On the other hand the Supreme Judge of the universe should be approached with respect for his authority and dignity.not with coarse or crude humor. but with an attitude that befits his dignity and power and Love and Justice and mercy.and as you would approach a King (which he is)

So keep it clean and call him by name and as you would like to be approached and he will reveal to you his sense of humor.if you approach him with honesty and form the heart.

God certainly doesn't lkie prejudice jokes or jokes that put people down or belittle others.

I joke around with God all the time. Look at the joke of a life He gave me. I'm sure He can handle it, since He has probably already heard it all before anyways. Besides, we are the biggest joke He created...that in itself proves He has a sense of humor.

She will not want you even more. You need to show her that you don't need her and can live your life without her. She still cares about you I am sure. Maybe try "flirting" with other girls around her to make her jealous. I know its bad, but if i saw my ex flirting with someone else it would make me REALLY ANGRY. However, you still need to show her you care about her too. Show her what she's missing and remind her of it. Be confident and don't show your broken heart. Try ignoring her? Girls hate that. You want her to come to you. Once she does this YOU have all the power.

She will realize what you mean to her and she will hopefully come crawling back. (I am in the same situation as you, except I am the girl trying to get my ex back). Try not to be so clingy and give her space. But try to be around so she sees you, but don't talk to her much. Keep convos short and if you txt her, which you shouldn't, then also keep it short and bland. This will be hard to do because you just want to let her in your life again, but you can't. If you show her that you are desperate to get her back, she won't go for it. Make her come to you and REMIND her of all that she is missing out on. Hope this helps. And trust me, I know how you feel. Girls usually come around easier than guys so you should be lucky. ughh wish i could say the same.

Are you joking ? I really can't tell...But-
I tell you what why don't you try this and let me know how it works out for you ....How the next few days to a year go, you obviously are not out to honor God ..and if you took time to know Him you would know He has a sense of humor , have you not read of Balaam and his talking donkey ?
While your at it try doing and saying some of these things to your own Dad and see if he likes it...or bust's a nut ,I'm sure since he's' human' he has them...
And yes I'm sure God smiles and laughs ,and I know He has a sense of humor... He designed us with that unique sound making pressure valve..... And I don't care who you are when their loud it's funny....

I think God has a sense of humor...I had a priest one sunday during the Christmas season read a greeting card he got in the mail during service, and on the front it showed Mary and Joseph, and baby Jesus, and Joseph exclaimed "Jesus Christ! What are we going to name this kid?" The younger people laughed, the older people scaughed, but I think God would think its ok as long as it is done with a certain intent, not to purposely disobey any of his laws, or to simply **** him off...I think Bruce Almighty movie is a perfect example of this.

The funny thing is I came to the realization that I had to change a little too late. After I was kicked out and after I was about to lose the only things that truly mattered to me - her love. A funny thing happens when we truly love someone and lose them. We do what ever it takes to get them back. For me I had to drop bad habits that had caused not only our relationship to sour but practically every other relationship I had had in the past. Not only with women, but with friends, co-workers, family, you name it.

Which is why I say to you as my ex at the time said to me, the only thing you can do is change yourself. Work on yourself and improve on the person that you already are. Drop the negative things in your life that don't belong there and you will see all of your relationships start to take off to new heights.

Of course you can...as long as it's clean and respectful- just like you should tell to other humans. I personally believe that God has a sense of humor- therefore we do as we are created in His image.

Here's a quick story that happened last week...I was clearing the snow off my car with my daughter and she was trying to throw snow balls at me but I kept jumping out of the way....she says "daddy- I'm gonna get you"....I said "sweetheart, I'm a lot bigger than you and a lot faster than you- if anyone gets it it'll be you not me"....right then- this is no joke, a gust of wind came, shook the tree above my car and I got splattered with a HUGE ball of snow that had been accumulating on a branch right above me.....I looked up and laughed & said "ok- you got me Lord- that was a good one, I have to admit!"

I have no doubt that God plays tricks on us just like us earthy parents play loving tricks on our kids- God has an awesome sense of humor and it's given to us as well since He made us to be in His image.
