I don't know. Have the communists apologized for killing those that have a religion...like all the monks that were just recently killed?

There have been public apologies by Christian churches for past deeds. http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/religion/jan-june00/apology_3-13.html And the American government has apologized for enslavement and genocide. These apologies didn't undo the harm, but it's important that those wrongs were acknowledged.

We can't get much done from the position of being down on our knees. I'd rather see all of us standing up and moving forward and NEVER doing those terrible things again. Yes, Christians needed to apologize for what their previous leaders have done... but they aren't responsible for what their previous leaders have done. America needed to apologize for its atrocities, but as an American it's not my fault that those atrocities were commited. It is, however, my duty to do everything I can to help prevent a repeat of the more horrific aspects of American history.

I won't apologize for what I didn't do. But I am sorry for those things that happened, not because it's my fault, but because I am always sorry to see the innocent suffer no matter who is at fault.

Yeah, John Paul II did. He Apologized for over 100 of wrong doings including those you mention and The legal process to Galileo Galilei, Catholics' involvement with the African slave trade,The Church Hierarchy's role in burnings at the stake and the religious wars that followed the Protestant Reformation, The injustices committed against women, the violation of women's rights and for the historical denigration of women, Inactivity and silence of some Catholics during the Holocaust (He was particularly frustrated since He lost many good friends because of the Holocaust), For the sins of some Catholics throughout the ages for violating "the rights of ethnic groups and peoples, and [for showing] contempt for their cultures and religious traditions etc.

Oh and Would You please If You are American go to your knees and ask for forgiveness for Hiroshima and Nagasaki, or If you are are British Go to your knees and beg for forgiveness for the multiple Crimes of the British Empire.

I never took part in the Inquisition or Crusades so I don't have to apologize for it. I'm American Indian, I don't expect anyone to apologize to me. My great-great-great-great grandpa was an Indian chief and was brutally murdered. But I myself wasn't murdered so I don't need an apology.

What makes you are so righteous that you can set yourself up on a pedestal and ask for an apology? Who do you think you are?

No I don't remember any talk about humility, but you should show some and ask for forgiveness for your haughtiness.

Then there are those killed in the name of all the other religions, cults, schisms and so on.

Perhaps as bad are those that do the same in the name of their political beliefs and biases. Some atheists are just as fanatical as some jihadsists.

Perhaps it's better to be nice to people and leave the world a bit better then you found it?

That was all a long time ago and is it really relevant today? Why should I have to apologise for something someone else did? Maybe you could ask the Muslims, Pagans, Satanists to do the same! Don't quite know what you are re acting to!

the ignorance of the people
who murdered in the name of god
when they really didnt know god at all
shouldnt be pinned on all christians

but ill go ahead and apologize for christians in general for not acting like christians. the word christian itself means christ-like or christ-follower, but we all know that people in churches today are likely to be neither of those. kudos for you for not blaming wars on god himself. glad to see that not everyone is an idget

Hey, I'm old, but I haven't been around that long... I don't think the church I go to approves of that stuff.

When are you going to apologize for being so narrow-minded? Go ahead, get down on YOUR knees, do it.
