the first music? not even close. did it not begin with black americans in the 19th century? music has been around much longer than that. Many rock bands were influenced by blues, including the best of them, like led zeppelin and the stones

Blues developed in the late 1800's ... of course there was music before then, and music was being "stolen" all the time to creat new things.
As for stealing entire songs wholesale - yes, that happened a lot with blues music in particular when Rock and Roll was being formed. TOO many examples to list.
Bluegrass has been around a long time too, so hard to say it came from blues or vice versa.

The first music was percussion thousands of years ago. Blues came out of the misery of black slaves in the US and is a relatively new thing. Find River of Song at your local library and watch it. Bluegrass was a white thing born out of the Celtic roots of many of the Scotch/Irish who emigrated to the Southeastern US. Rock and Roll was born of Black rythym and blues

Blues are probably the first American music. But they were derived from many influences. Hymns, field chants and hollers, French Quadrills, old African melodies brought over with the first slaves to help preserve their culture, Anything that the new slaves heard around them was infused. Stolen? Yes to a degree. But the blues were incorporated to make up new forms of music. Jazz,Rock, and Country etc.

It wasn't the first music. Music has been around for centuries.
I think a lot of blues music was stolen by white performers who got it played on radio and early TV because of all the prejudice against black performers. Black performers really got screwed back then.

Not the first, and it wasn't "stolen". It is impossible to steal music, because all music is and isn't the same, if that even makes sense.

This is probably going to sound flaky, but I believe the first music was the praise music of the angels in heaven before Adam was even created.
As far as rock & roll, I believe it is a fusion of R&B, country, blues, and pop. Thats how it originated.
Bluegrass sounds like a fusion of country (obviously), swing, and western swing.
