Oh my GOODNESS....I wish I knew.
I get this ever since a brain injury 3 years ago. It is almost like I have adhd (seriously). At night, my brain clicks through it's own channels of tv it seems....click, click, click, click, click.
I can't even keep my mind on one subject long enough to count sheep. And, sleeping pills don't work. I have tried lunesta....HA HA HA....3 nights straight I was up, day AND night.
I used to take hydroxazine, and that helped a bit...but, not anymore. and 2 benedryl is what I take when my allergies are really bad, and that NEVER made me tired.
so....click click click goes my brain.
The worst is when I got some fluid in my ears and my doc had me take sudafed.....I REALLY don't sleep now. up during the day, up during the night, up the next day, and the next, and the next......I lay down during the night...I try to sleep.....
And, valium and it's related drugs...do nothing.
Sometimes, exercise does work....truly. I was working out daily for a while....that helped. But, now....since the fluid in my ears and my migraines, and too much snow to walk safely since no sidewalks.....no zzzzz.
(got to say I LOVE the rozeram commercials though!!)
Hope you find something......good luck to you, I can understand. If you don't find relief, let your doctor know. lack of sleep is nothing to ignore. it can damage your health.

You might need to change a few of your habits: avoid chocolate and caffeine after 12:00 pm; avoid activities that require mental concentration or vigorous physical activities a few hours before bedtime. Save some boring work like washing dishes right before bed. If you wake up thinking, get out of bed and get you mind on something else by reading or watching something on TV.

Put your mind to work...it mind sound a little strange, but it works for me. Whenever I can't relax or sleep, I start doing math in my head, like adding, dividing, etc...I just do it over and over and over and eventually it works! Hope that helps!

I have that too... sometimes it is about things that are troubling more or other times it is about just random things. What I do is doing something that requires concentration. For example, a video game, drawing or something like that.
