the whole point of voting is that you live in a democratic country.. and you get to have a say so in how and what goes on....
it is human nature to be heard and to be self-protective - if you had the choice of a crazed muslim jeahadist (sorry no idea how to spell it) at the helm or a rather more level headed and un-relgiously driven leader - who would you go for...? would you even vote?... what would happen if you didn't? .. the more aggressive would likely force themselves into power - and no need to explain which one that would be.....

To answer the question you asked - If noboby voted there would be no government and you would have anarchy which at some point would likey be ursurped by dictatorship - Apathy is in no ones interests.
